This apartment hotel is in an excellent location and our rooms were spacious and well-appointed. It was great to be able to have a quick bite before heading out for the day, the facilities for this are excellent. It was perfect for the Melbourne Flower Show. The staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It would have been great to have a full-length mirror somewhere and two hooks on the bathroom door (blokes have toilet bags also). Also, why no free wifi in the rooms? The cost of wifi was very high. You can get it for free at cafes, why not all hotels? Those that offer this will get my booking every time. We travel a lot and need to keep in touch, it is archaic to have expensive wifi arrangements.

Really enjoyed our stay at Mantra on the Park for 4 nights. Really good quality food at the hotel restaurant and I thought the breakfast was really good value at $12.95 if you booked ahead. Full cooked and everything you could want plus the bacon and eggs are cooked in small amounts so all fresh. Hotel room a really good size with balcony and overlooking the park. Fabulous city location within walking distance to all the shopping and the free circle tram is on the corner which takes you down to the riverside shopping and restaurants. I qould stay here again.
also just a short walk to the fantastic Lyons Street with loads of amazing Italian restaurants and a really great atmosphere.

Room Tip: Check the air conditioning is working in each individual room as I had to leave balcony door open to...

We had four nights at the Mantra on the Park in a 2 bedroom, 11th floor apartment overlooking Carlton Gardens. From the time we arrived till the time we departed we couldn't fault a thing. Our requests were meet - four single beds, balcony, higher floor (less noise) overlooking the gardens. The apartment was very clean. Our only negative was the tired condition of the bathroom tiles i.e. cracked and mouldy.
Highly recommend location as had City Circle Free Tram at door and also wee IGA for any small grocery items.

Conveniently located, with a lovely view over the park and great spacious modern rooms. My only negative was there was little mould in the shower. A little attention in this area would make this place close to perfect. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel as Melbourne as a lot of nooks and coffee places. Good stay. Will be back.

We had four nights at the Mantra recently and highly recommend it. The apartment was huge with a lovely lounge a big room and kitchen and a fantastic view with a balcony to boot.

The location is perfect for exploring the Melbourne CBD and wailing to cool places like Fitzroy.

My only complaint would be that the bathroom was a little tired but overall we loved it and we'll be back.

Stayed at the Mantra on the Park for 3 nights with my husband and Mom en-route back to the UK from Tasmania. We had a 2 bed 2 bath with balcony ~ I emailed the hotel and asked for a high floor and got the top floor. The view was great and the location is good. The free tram stops outside and as we only had a couple of days on this visit we didn't get a tram pass. We used the free tram and did lots of walking. There's an IGA on the corner selling various foodstuffs, beer, wine and spirits.

The apartment was spacious and clean ~ the living areas have been refurbished. Bathrooms have also had refit, but not the wall tiles. Two small cartons of long life milk was left in the fridge and dishwashing liquid provided. The teabags were not replaced, but as True Brits we'd got our own! We ordered breakfast when we checked in for the following morning. We only pre-booked for the following morning and glad we did. It would've been tasty if only it was warm. We were told it got very busy early and advised to book for 9.30am. Think any food heaters were turned off by 8.30 as it was unpleasantly cold. Mr J asked for a fried or poached egg instead of the scrambled on offer and was told there was a charge!

That was the only downside and the next 2 mornings we had hot, delicious breakfasts courtesy of Mr J! We've been to Melbourne a few times and stayed at various apartments and felt this was as good as the others. It's a great city and we love it and if we do return would certainly stay here again. Reception staff were great and allowed us to check out at 11.30 instead of 11.00 and stored our luggage till our 3.30 pick up. Booked via Agoda as their special rate was cheaper than Mantra online.

Ideally located on the edge of the CBD, couple of blocks from China Town, overlooking Carlton Gardens. Great room size with feel of full size apartment. Bed was good size and super comfy and balcony added to the space and feel. Small but functional gym on lobby floor and pool. Buffet breakfast was good value and tasty. They had a short term problem with a lift but this was soon sorted. All round good value great location and excellent room.
