“Great hot chocolate, bad decor and location!”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

We had a lovely drink here, but very awkward and tacky table settings. Didn't want to sit outside in the arcade either. Later we walked around the new shopping centre Emporium and they opened up another cafe there, which will be much better. Lovely thick hot chocolate though!

“Lovely”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Partner and I went for afternoon tea one day, shared a hot chocolate and piece of cake, both lovely but very rich. A little expensive but worth the experience.

“The best hot chocolate - not sure about the Pavlova cake”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

This place is tucked below one of the laneways and isn't particularly amazing to look at, but the hot chocolate here is probably the best i've ever had. They have many flavour options and all are made with high quality real melted chocolate. I had the jaffa and my husband had the milk - both equally rich and decadent - almost a meal in themselves!

We also had the pavlova cake based on some other reviews here, but were pretty disappointed. It wasn't really pavlova at all - more very stiff raw egg whites with cream and chocoltae over the top. there wasn't any crunch at all from the meringue - it wasn't even chewy - more like stiff foam. I wouldn't bother with this. It was a bit weird. The strawberries were nice though.

All in all - stick to the chocolate. It's really good.

“AMAZING !!!”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

It was truly to die for. It puts Lindt Cafe, Max Brenner, San Churro and all the other chocolate places to shame. The hot chocolate was amazing as was their signature chocolate pavlova, pavlova with melted chocolate in between topped with double cream and fresh strawberries. Mmmmm would fly to Melbourne for that alone.

“Overrated”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

I seriously love chocolate. However the hot dark Chocolate left me rather disappointed. It was overly sweet and we, 2 adults and 2 kids, couldn't finish even one glass of it. My kids are sugar monsters and they felt the sweetness was overwhelming.
Ordered the pavlova to share since it is highly raved, but the taste of raw egg white from the meringue was strong. Never tried one before, so found it hard to stomach.
