We recently celebrated my birthday with a weekend lunch at Bopha Devi. As my husband and I had travelled to Cambodia 18 months ago, we were eager to relive the flavours we'd come to enjoy so much. Our two grown-up kids were very impressed, as we were, not only with the beautiful flavours and fresh ingredients in the food, but also with the warm hospitality of the staff. We had a lovely time at Bopha Devi, despite the lack of a view. Instead, we enjoyed seeing the photos on the walls of Cambodian people going about their lives and reminisced about all the experiences we'd had in this endearing country. More than happy to support a business that's endeavouring to do something ethical by putting back into a country whose people are trying hard to provide a better life for their children. The food and hospitality are second to none.

We had takeaways from here while staying in Docklands. The food was fantastic - flavoursome and lots of it.

While staying in the Docklands Apartments Grand Mercure, we bought takeaways from Bopha Devi, and thought the food superb. The tastes and combinations were authentic Cambodian, with far too much food for the four of us. While the main course prices are a little dear for its location, it does have a 'Little Bites' menu with prices from $9.50 (Rice Paper Rolls) to 17.50 (Stuffed Poulet). Soups are priced from $18.50 (rice noodle or rice porridge) to $20.50 (tamarind) and a couple of dollars more to add meat or fish to them. Salads are $18.50 (shrimp) and $20.50 (beef), while there are 14 mains ranging from $19.50 (chicken fried rice) to $30.50 (fish). If I was eating in-house, I would order one main between the two of us, and more food following that if we were still hungry. As travellers, we've found that is the way to go in any country.

By far the best food in the Docklands. One of the few restaurants that doesn't have a view though - and you still pay "Docklands Rates".

Wish it was a little cheaper.

We went for a meal here on Thursday night. The décor is lovely, and the staff were friendly. We chose two glasses of wine, and the staff let us try one before we got a glass of it, which I thought was really nice. We chose the beef skewers, which were full of flavour and the pickled vegetables were fresh. The spicy sauce was really spicy though! For the mains we chose Moung Ang the Saramann chicken. The Moung Ang, chicken and onion meatballs with vermicelli, lettuce and mint was nice, the meatballs were delicious but the vermicelli and lettuce were quite dry and would really have benefitted from some kind of sauce. The saramann sauce was tasty, although after a while the peanut in the sauce became the overwhelming flavour. The portions of the food were generous apart from the rice, which was half the size we would normally be served in other places. All in all, a nice experience. The staff were attentive and helpful, and we didn’t have to wait long for the food. The décor and ambience are nice, you can talk without too much noise.
