We were staying in Apollo Bay and decided to drive into Geelong via the great ocean road and stop off at Torquay for lunch. the scenery is absolutely spectacular, roads curving around the ocean and also through the forest, never gets boring, the only pitfall is car sickness, if anyone gets even slightly carsick, I would not recommend this drive at all, but if car sickness is not an issue go for it, it is well worth the drive. So many beautiful towns along the way to stop for a meal or to stay overnight

We made this trip as a family (2 adults and 2 children) with Bunyip Tours. There was heavy rain, but that did not matter. Once seeing the amazin apostles it is just so worth it. Loch Ard Gorge is another amazing attraction along the Great Ocean Road. If you have the chance do make this trip. It is worth all the hours driving.

Myself and a group of friends rented a car and drove down the ocean road. It was an absolutely amazing experience. All the scenic points are well sign posted, and since we had our own car we could stop where ever we liked. We stopped at several places, one was a forest view walkway, that had the walkways high above the forest floor, giving an amazing view of the forest and natural habitats - birds, animals, and the various plants. We also stopped at various places along the way, or a short detour off the main road for a snack or meal.

The colour of the ocean is simply amazing, different hues of blue. The apostles, is simply a breathtaking sight.

A must experience and a must visit!

We drove from Melbourne to Port Fairy stopping at Apollo Bay overnight and certainly needed the 2 days for all the stops and views and could easily have spent more time walking and exploring. Lots of twists and turns but take advantage of the many turnouts and view points to let the other traffic past. We enjoyed our trip through the Gum trees koala spotting on the way to Cape Otway Lighthouse, lunch on the beach at Gibson Steps, 12 apostles of course but some of the stops after this on the way to Port fairy were quieter and less touristy - Loch ard gorge, London Bridge, The arch, The Grotto, Bay of Islands etc. Our inland route back took another couple of days to allow time to visit cheese, wine and other foodie places around Timboon and Simpson and Otway National Park forest area. So much to do that we'll be coming back again I'm sure.

This spot shouldn't be missed if you are visiting Victoria. We, a group of 5, rented a car and travel there on our own. We spend a night at homestay near Twelve Apostles. Remember to stop at any shops at beginning of the road to buy some food stuffs, as you might find no where to shop once you entering further into the Great Ocean Road. The scene is just breathtaking and you will find it worth all the tiring long journey down to the road.
