we stayed here with our small children and another family with children. there are 3 cabins in all we booked two of them. the cabins are modern with a cozy fireplace. both cabins have two bedrooms each w queen beds.
halls gap is lovely and tranquil. you can see and feel nature. the kangaroos were in the yard and the cockies came daily to eat seeds out of our hands!! the kids loved this.
the cabin was well equipped with a laundry dishwasher and fully equipped kitchen.
if you book a cabin though be sure to book the front cabin otherwise the view you get is of the back door of the cabin in front of you.
this property could be great they have all the ingredients- if they just took a little extra care. there was considerable mould in the shower doors and the worst experience we had was the one you sometimes suspect when you rent a hotel room but hope you never find. the sheets hadnt been changed from the previous tennant(s)!!! uggh we turned the sheets back to put the kids in one of the queen beds and there were body hairs in the bed. i told myself i was mistaken but then found a really long ladies head hair too!!! it was pouring with rain and we knew the owners were living off the property so tried to solve the problem ourselves by changing the sheets to the ones that were on the shelf in the wardrobe. uggh even worse these ones had obvious stains on them!!!!!!
called the owners and they told us where the locked linen cupboard keys were. we were able to change the sheets to fresh ones that actually smelt of soap. but we also decided to change the duvet cover as a precaution. there are two queen beds in the unit and only one spare cover. so how often do you think the doona cover gets changed when they dont actually change sheets between clients?????
we went on with our holiday with clean sheets on one bed but had had to change dirty sheets ourselves twice including the filthy ones in the wardrobe. the owner didnt once contact us again during the stay to check things had gone ok. or come to check the rest of the unit.
the final issue which prompted me to post this for others to watch for, is that the tap in the shower did not drip - it actually poured all day and all night. they havea visitors book on the bench and a guest had mentioned this problem 6 weeks ago and the owner had noted it!!! still nothing had been done. how environmentally insensitive (or lazy) can you be. not that hard to change a washer.
if i wanted to stay in day old beds with running taps i would have stayed home and saved my $150 per night!!!!!
unless they lift their game i wouldnt stay here - shame but used sheets is the worst experience
