View is amazing and service fantastic, but we would love to see the menu finally get updated - I don't think it ever changed which is a Shame as this is a very high quality restaurant.

Thank you for your comments – Our a la carte menu is changed seasonally although some dishes remain as our customers come back to have these meals cooked at the table eg The Flambe Prawns, Steak Diane and the Crepes Suzettes – and of course, the Oysters!
The rest of the menu is changed to be able to incorporate the best and freshest local ingredients for which Tasmania has become renowned.
Hopefully you will visit us again soon…I can assure you the views and service are still the best. Kind regards Andrew Fox, Hotel Manager, Wrest Point

“You don't even know you're moving”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

What a great restaurant. The changing views add to the experience. The service is outstanding, friendly, informative, and an overall willingness to please. The food is fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. And if you have food intolerances, they are only too happy to find an alternative. We opted for the set price three course menu which had a good broad selection from their main menu.

Thank you for your comments. After many requests, we have recently added a full Vegetarian menu to our a la carte, which also includes a gluten free crepes suzettes option!
Where possible we can adjust meals (one of the great things about a la carte dining)
Thank you for your positive contribution, we hope to see you again soon.
Kind regards Andrew Fox, Hotel Manager, Wrest Point

“The Point Revolving Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

It was our visitors wedding anniversary and also night before departing home to Canada and as such a treat was the order of the day. When booking the restaurant, this also provides free valet parking. This menu is simply astonishing in its depth of choices, and also provided a three course set piece. I had the Waygu Beef. I am going back for more (probably alone so that I can enjoy it without the irritation of conversation !!!) This was simply outstanding and was not overdone with a jus, which was subtle, flavoursome and a delight. The service was as expected, immediate, non intrusive. My travelling companion made the error of lifting the wine bottle to refresh his glass, which was immediately rectified by the Head Waiter. I did warn you that I was going to have dinner at The Point after my mothers day review. Bookings essential, a mid week visit meant that the crowds were elsewhere. One minor matter was that the restaurant price for the wine which was 2.5 times that charged when making the same purchase from the retailer. Despite location, ambience, service such prices for opening the bottle, in my opinion, cannot be justified. Despite this I highly recommend The Point Revolving Restaurant.

Thank you for making good on your promise to re visit us after your Mother’s Day experience and i'm glad you enjoyed the Waygu - one of my personal favourite also! We certainly do try and keep our wine pricing reasonable however thanks for your comments on this. Your comments are much appreciated. Kind regards Andrew Fox, Hotel Manager, Wrest Point

“Expensive for a fairly basic menu”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

Having been to this restaurant on many occasions I must say that it seems to be caught in a time warp. The menu has dishes on it that seem to have been there for years. The service is always exceptional as is the quality of the food, which considering the prices is to be expected. The views are truly beautiful of a night and well worth a dining experience. I think a bit of innovation is needed here.

Thank you for your comments. The items on The Point menu are a blend of French flavour using some modern techniques. The Duck a l’orange is a main stay but each season is given a different twist. Other regular items on the menu include the Flambe Prawns, Steak Diane and the Crepes Suzettes which are all cooked at the table, always adding an extra flourish to every meal.
These menu items are unashamedly traditional, our regular guests demand these iconic choices as part of ’The Point’ experience.
Chef Kent Sullivan’s innovation is using local, fresh, seasonal products in his dishes so that classic French recipes are given modern flair.
We hope to see you again soon and thanks for taking the time to add your comments.

“Treat for my friends”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Took my friends up for a special meal to celebrate our trip. We came with them, as he was a Representative from Missouri, to representative our Order. We all 4 were impressed with the menu options, the service was great, and the food was also great. The view is something that all 4 of us have been telling our friends about. If you are there, you need to go up for diner.
