Description: Jill & George Mure opened Tasmania's first licensed seafood restaurant, Mures Fish House, in 1973 in Hobart. When they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing. Mures' philosophy of fresh Australian seafood, sourced from sustainably managed fisheries still rings true from the ocean to the plate. With an international reputation for Tasmania's world class seafood, Upper Deck is the ultimate seafood experience in Hobart.Enjoy expansive dockside views and a la carte dishes, often changing daily with the freshest catch, featuring the finest seafood and very best local produce. Perfectly complement your meal with their award-winning exclusively Tasmanian wine list. Reservations are recommended. Upper Deck specialises in functions from private dining for small groups to large corporate events and are experienced in tailoring an event to suit your needs.

We were guest of a business colleague and although the setting is fabulous and the menu quite delicious each meal was quite small in size when served. Two people had the beef topped with seafood and at $48.00 each we expected a main course size. It had no extras and decorations only on the plate and both men were still hungry after eating it. Other meals were fine quality but rather small in size even for the females present. Sides are definitely needed to compliment the meals. Local wines only on the wine list but thats okay to prop up local wineries.

Picked The Upper Deck as The Lower Deck has NO none fish option for our none fish eating member of the family. We were not disappointed. It might be a touch on the pricey side but the service was excellent and although they got a main dish wrong, they ,very quickly, put it right. Food and wine was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening in a great atmosphere. The Trevalla and Scallops was melt in the mouth and my wife's Pork was very tasty. They only get a 4 star rating, because of the mix up with 2 Trevalla dishes on the menu it not being made clear at the time of ordering which one had been ordered and really that was down to the staff not asking. Would definitely eat here again. Highly recommended.

We went to the upper restaurant after finding the lower one very crowded and noisy and lacking in choices for a non- seafood eater! Upstairs is a much classier restaurant and is priced accordingly but we were generally pleased with what we had. My partner was a little disgruntled original as it took some time for us to be served, even for drinks. However, once we received our food, his displeasure disappeared and he proclaimed his flathead fillets to be the best he had ever eaten! The beer battered chips also received praise and this non-seafood eater enjoyed the pork loin. Having sampled some home baked bread- which was tasty but a bit pricy at $8- we were too full to contemplate dessert! Overall, an enjoyable experience in a beautifully located restaurant despite our original gripes about the initial slow service.

Had a great meal in Mures last night, was a little apprehensive about going as some of the reviews weren't that great! Service was initially a little slow but got better after the drinks arrived. Food was lovely, bread very tasty, mash was a little on the small side but the side of veggies were extremely generous so made up for it. Over all a very enjoyable meal.

Mures is a little upmarket HOWEVER its WORTH EVERY PENNY! The evening views, great service and delicious meals.. all divine! I tried everything listed above and if I had more time I would have gone back a second time! I must say though what made the night were the waiters on the night and the dessert! Save some room for dessert as you will not be disappointed!
