“Fish & Chips with Tasmanian wines!”

Who would have ever believed we might look forward to chips and chardonay. Fish and chip shops are still fairly common but Fish Frenzy do it with style. Always good plus generous serves at reasonable prices.

Lightning fast service superb location great tasting food. This was my first time visiting Fish Frenzy and it turned out to be quiet a pleasant experience! Although the place was pretty busy but the service was fast and the food was simply awesome. Coupled with the great location, I’d give fish frenzy a thumbs up!

“Waterside venue saves the rating !”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We found a table for two looking out across the harbour which was fortunate as this venue is so popular that they do not take reservations. We like this but the cooler weather does put pressure on the inside seating. Some outside tables were in use last night though only by the well "rugged up".[warmly dressed for our overseas visitors] My wife and i both decided on the fish wrap which is described as one piece of deep fried fish with salads in a wrap. We enquired before ordering as to what species of fish and were more than happy to hear it would be LING as hailing from Africa we have eaten plenty of This fine fish which is known in those waters as "KINGKLIP".
The wrap comes with chips and these were well cooked hot and fresh. The actual wrap was well made but unfortunately the LING
had been overcooked and the thick crunchy batter detracted from one of the worlds best fish. In Europe this fish is known as
"KONINGKLIP" and was eaten by royalty so to batter it up to this degree and then deep fry it is quite disappointing. LING is so firm and therefore very easy to PANFRY in a little butter or a mixture of butter and olive oil which will then really do it justice. It might take a minute longer than deep frying but the results will justify the slightly longer wait. I am not saying for a minute that our LING wrap was bad but even the salad was average and the mayo sauce was not evenly spread. The attention to detail seems to have slipped when the rate of turnover is increased.
Many chefs or restaurant managers should take a short walk up to the Shamrock and try their salads as well as their FLATHEAD
or other fish for that matter. The wraps cost $12 each and our Babich sauvignon blanc came in at $30 plus. This was a pleasant meal but could be even better with a little more care and attention to detail. Less haste more satisfaction !

“OK but not Great”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

The scallops and chips were ok, but why cook the scallops till they are shriveled up single bites? The calamari and chips were very good, no complaints.
The chips were much better than those we had a Mures Lower Deck, much better, and the service at Fish Frenzy was fast and done with a great smile from at least one of the girls. And the cider and beer well chilled.

“Fresh”

Fresh food, quick service with superb views of the docks, particularly at sunset. A good choice before a show at a local theatre.
