The restaurant is world renowned, features in many global travel guides and is always popular – so reservations are advised! Open 7 days a week with parking out front.

The highlight is the cosy atmosphere, with artefacts throughout . The food was pleasant and the service variable ie I found some staff helpful and friendly and others quite abrupt and inflexible in attitude. Despite the variability in service I found the atmosphere quaint and cosy.

On the Hobart waterfront but really more like a US venue than one in Oz, as it's a quirky bar/restaurant with sea artefacts, figures of sailors, masts, nets etc. The tables are interestingly and well spaced to suggest a deck formation. Definitely more fun than most of the po-faced fine dining options on the waterfront. We hadn't booked but were able to snag a late sitting, thank goodness so definitely better to book ahead as it seems always to be full. The seafood was excellent and tasted very fresh. I had my fave Kilpatrick oysters and then a clever grill arrangement for trevally, prawns and scallops. My partner had an imaginative 'rock' lobster for starters and a huge smoky fish stew. Staff are friendly, portions are enormous, wine list is reasonable.

The seafood at the Drunken Admiral is among the best I've had. The waiters were very friendly, and helpful. The Japanese Tiger Prawns are a must for enter, and the wok tossed curry is to die for. The Salmon Tagline is also spectacular. Didn't have room for desert. The décor inside the restaurant rivals any maritime museum, and is worth a look all on its own.

Fun venue with great atmosphere make sure you book can be hard to get in. Staff very efficient and friendly. Seafood Chowder tasty with plenty of seafood, good but not the best I have had. Husband had a sizzle plate which he enjoyed but found the prawns lacked flavour. A great night out.
