“North Hobart restaurants”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

You will find lots of small restaurants in North Hobart all within a small area. Not much scope for gluten free and mainly asian restaurants and a Fish restaurant. We dined at Anapurna which was good indian food and not far from the State Theatre. Cost was average at most restaurants.

“Premier Food Strip in Hobart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

North Hobart is the place to go if you wish to walk the street looking for a meal. It is as close to Lygon St, Carlton VIC, as you will get in Tasmania. Great places to eat, and a great atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it is nowhere near as 'happening' as Lygon St, but it is the place in Hobart with the highest concentration of restaurants.

“Great metropolitan feel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

North Hobart is great for coffee, food and live music. I love the metropolitan feel! It's quiet but there's still lots to do.

“A very alive neighbourhood well worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

When I lived in Hobart years ago not much happened in North Hobart, but now it is alive with funky coffee shops and loads of really interesting restaurants, a book store and, of course, the State Cinema. Walking around the back streets is a great way to see some lovely examples of older Hobart homes. If you have time for lunch while visiting the city it is well worth a visit.
