“A foodies must”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Lots of new things happening in this precinct. A new restaurant opened this week, and a new complex opening further towards the city soon. North Hobart is called the "Lygon Street" of Hoabrt with many varied restaurants, cafes, pubs and food tastes to expereince. Not far to walk from the city centre North Hobart has tastes for everyone.

“Spoilt for choice”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

this small area of Hobart is a meeting place most nights of the week. There is a wide range of eateries, from the most casual to top class, and suiting the full suite of budgets. Most nights you can find somewhere if you haven't booked, but a lot of places are very popular so it you have a preference, secure your table

“TUSK Homewares & Gifts”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

This great boutique store is in the heart of North Hobart, surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants and other boutique stores. There's an eclectic range with everything from quirky and fun to luxurious and serious, with great ranges of gifts for all ages and price ranges.

TUSK Homewares & Gifts features many popular Tasmanian designers, with ranges from children books, to food books, artwork, soft furnishings, and jewelry!

The guys at TUSK know the local area well, have a bundle of maps, and are always there to help you with directions, recommendations, or just have a chat!

“Shopping, Food, Drinks, Films, Atmosphere!”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

North Hobart is relatively small in size, only a few blocks long, but very big in character!

Surrounded with the vibrancy of cafes, restaurants, bars, cinemas and boutique stores, its right in the hub of the activity and buzz North Hobart is famous for.

There's a range of shopping, from TUSK Homewares & Gifts (featuring everything from the luxurious to downright fun & quirky, as well as showcasing many Tasmania designers, writers and artists), to the Beautiful State Cinema (where you can roam the bookshop, have a glass of wine, watch a film) and many Fashion Boutiques catering for men and women.

There's more restaurants and choices then you can poke a stick at, catering at all tasted and price ranges! Then there's bars, live music venues, a great gallery, and much more.

We love how it comes to life at night, and its the only area in Hobart where you will find late night shopping on Thursday and Fridays. We love this abo

“Loads of restaurants”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Go to Elisabeth street and follow it up to North Hobart, you will come across a lot of bars with live music and small local restaurants, the tourists dont go there much so it is great if you want to experience the real Hobart
