This hotel has so much potential. Central location. Off street parking, however it is extremely tired and dated. After using the old, slow lift you walk through a hall that is reminiscent of a nursing home to your room. The room is a good size but still everything is so dated. The smell of staleness can be It is a relic from the 70's. What looks like what would of been a top floor restaurant now looks to hold mattresses which can be seen from the ground floor. There is no free wifi which seems like a necessity in this day and age. Many people that I saw staying at the hotel at the time must over look the dreadful state of the hotel due to its location and OK room rates.

I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Located quite well in the city area, the mall and the shops are just around the corner, and Salamanca and docks area are a short walk away.
This hotel is let down by its age, the foyer is old, the lifts are old and slow, and the restaurant is, how do I say this, simply terrible.
The rooms are reasonably modern and quite well appointed, but getting Wifi in our room was virtually impossible apart from one area in the room.
It was noisy, the noise coming from guests in the corridors, and in the adjacent rooms, so this is one area that detracts from the comfort.
Car parking is on site, is free, but some of the spaces are difficult to get into.
The restaurant for breakfast is a combination of nightclub and eating, and as such, is not very appealing, but unfortunately, there is little option.
There are better places to stay, and I am sure there are worse.

We nad a number of problems during are stay are door would not close from the outside so had to take our stuff with when we went out.

Can hear everything from 3 rooms away my son kept being woken in the middle of the night.

Beds were saging and hurt back.

They did not supply a chair to sit on nor a clock.

We had no air conditioning.

The place could use a lot of updating.

The only positive was it's well located in the CBD.

I stayed for one night with 7 mates last week on our Tasmania motorcycle trip. I rang from Port Arthur and booked the room over the phone. The girl at reception ( Emma ) was friendly and happy. Rooms were good size and clean. We found the price to be very reasonable. Great pub across the road to. We parked our bikes underneath the hotel and although they werent locked up the security of them was fine. Would def recommend this one.

Terrible customer service and unfriendly staff. We booked through Wotif but when we decided to extend our stay, the hotel told us we needed to cancel our booking and rebook directly with the hotel. Changing the booking with Wotif incurs a fee so we didn't bother. Hotel is very dated but well located in the CBD. Prices were very competitive for this time of year but I would only recommend this hotel if you were on a tight budget.
