My first visit to Hobart in about 30 years and the decor of Wrest Point Casino has not changed one bit. Classic 70's wood panel walls, yellow ceilings and very tired furnishings. Given this our room was quiet and comfortable and the shower was fantastic with amazing water pressure. The highlight of our stay was the friendly and efficient service by the reception and concierge staff.

I stayed here quite a few years ago and am pleased to say that I think the high standard is still being maintained. The view out of the picture window was gorgeous. The rooms are well maintained and clean despite this part of the complex being over 50 years old. The bathrooms have had a nice update. Staff were efficient and friendly. Although we were on a non-smoking floor, tobacco smoke seemed to filter in under the door which was a shame. Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from in the main Casino. Take a walk around the outside of the complex for some wonderful views of the Derwent River.
Will stay here again - very good value when compared with other hotels in Hobart.

Even tho the rooms are old they are immaculately clean and fresh. It is a bit of a maze to get to the rooms but you soon find your bearings. The casino has a number of good restaurants to suit all budgets

Convenient location, well served by bus, v pleasant ,15 min walk to Battery Pt; good eateries nearby.

To the wecome on arriving, the comfortable rooms and beds, clean good quality, nothing was too much for the staff, as we arriveded late afternoon we asked where we could have a light lunch, they were happy for us to sit in the Onyz bar and order lunch from there,

We had dinner in the hotel one night, all good,
A very special thank you to the Concierge ROY, who knows Hobart inside out, with his guidence and knowledge we enjoyed, Battery Point where you must stop for a drink and meal at "Shippies" Inn,
Then go to Salamanca--we did on Friday night and peple just milling about having dinner and drinks from 25 to at least 80, so trendy just the best kept secret from the rest of Austraila.
Enjoy a drink and meal or a drink and tapas at The Gape--Salamancawe did--TWICE ---Hobart is a lovely place with heaps to visit as is Launceston.
Tasmania--Australia's secret !

Room Tip: Take a Harbour view room
