First impressions of the hotel are amazing. The way the hotel fits into the old jam factory is amazing. There are old photos that show what the place used to look like, the transformation is stunning.

The service was excellent. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. Valet parking is free for all guests as is the wifi. Our room was ready on arrival and exactly what we had booked.

We ate at Henry's - the restaurant in the hotel. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive.

If I had to pick faults in the hotel they would be small details - the hot water pressure was weak and dependant on users in other rooms, and hallway noise could be heard through the doors.

Overall a lovely stay and we will definitely consider it if we return to Hobart.

I had the opportunity to stay here for just one night...and it was worth it...this used to be a building that was once a jam factory so the history is wonderful to read about and it was great that they were able to take this old historical building and turn it into such a lovely art hotel. You will discover a varied art environment here - and I don't think it hurts that the art studio is just down the block from the hotel. It's a rich history and the location is perfect. Right at the docks with plenty of shopping and places to eat not a block away.

My room, 224 had a lovely balcony that I could sit out on and enjoy watching the boats. Instead I headed out to one of those places to eat called Smolt in Salamanca Square...excellent!!

Huge room with a sitting area and desk area, extra large bathroom with a very large walk in shower and a soaking tub...posh.

The hotel itself has works of art adorning all the walls and outside there is a patio that is surrounded by shops and places to sit and have meals or coffee.

The breakfast area - eggs royale, fresh strawberries and a café latte...just perfect. Always a smile on everyone's face too. A really nice place to stay.

Located overlooking the docks and built out of an old warehouse-jam factory, this hotel is interesting and different.

Location is excellent with ?? and Constitution Docks just opposite. An easy walk to the City and to Salamanca Place.

Rooms are very well appointed and comfortable and the staff are great - helpful and friendly.

We did not have dinner in the hotel so cannot vouch for their restaurant although we did enjoy breakfast there.

Overall - very good !

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a historic setting. Our room was comfortable, tastefully appointed and very spacious (and that was just a standard room). The breakfast, which was included in our room rate, was exceptional - everything was so lovely and fresh. Best of all were the staff who could not be faulted. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful, polite and professional - such nice, hospitable people. I would definitely stay here again.

Above and beyond any hotel I've stayed at, just great, easy, warm, genuine service, and beautiful comfortable rooms - it seems such an easy equation when you experience it! Wish more hotels 'got it' like these guys do. Just stay here, it's great.

Room Tip: 225 uniquely has a huge private balcony...huge as in the same size as the (huge) room again. And a s...

We stayed at the Henry Jones hotel for two nights. The standard room was large and well appointed. The beds and bedding were super comfy and the bathroom large enough for a party. However, the only window in the room faced onto the outdoor stairway which was lit through the night. The venetian blinds were insufficient to block out the light, so curtains would have been helpful. Walking through what was effectively an art gallery made our trips to and from our room very interesting. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and breakfast there twice and have no complaints about the food or the service. Wifi was included at no extra charge, another positive. The service provided by the staff could not be faulted. It was helpful, friendly, prompt and professional, even down to printing out our boarding passes for our next flight and providing tourist information about cafes in Battery Point. This hotel is a nice change from the multistorey, marble edifice chain hotels that predominate in many places. Highly recommended.

Our final 2 nights in Tasmania were spent here at the Henry Jones, everything here was perfect, but the best part for us was their restaurant suggestions, every one was exceptional, so well done front desk team!. We even went back to the front desk after we had already checked out on our last day, as we so wanted to indulge in the fabulous seafood of Tasmania one more time for lunch before we flew back to Melbourne, they suggested the Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant just up the road which was divine. So...back to the room - perfect, well set out had everything we needed, loved the art work, loved the toiletries and my favourite tea. Loved it.
