“Still a great heritage area to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

A return visit to show an overseas visitor some of the quaint historical cottages and arthurs circus, still lovely, the cottages and properties are well maintained and there are some nice cafes to visit in the area for a snack or iced coffee (the weather was warm that day). A walk onto the Shipwright Arms Hotel for a beer finished off our walk nicely.

“Historic stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014

We went for a most enjoyable stroll around the area on the last morning of our stay. We approached the area via the old, steep steps in Salamanca Place which are very picturesque but may not be easily accessible for some. The houses in the area are beautifully maintained, surrounded by lovely cottage gardens and we really enjoyed our peaceful Sunday morning stroll.Arthurs Circus is a particularly delightful aspect of this area. We had just breakfasted in Salamanca Place so did not try any of the cafés in the area but the food we saw displayed in Jackson and Macrobb certainly looked tempting!

“What a gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

Battery Point was just around the corner from our hotel at Salamanca Place. To walk and drive around this amazing area was very interesting. The fantastic old houses and architecture is wonderful, the homes are obviously loved and well maintained. The whole landscape here is awesome as are the views. The area is full of beautiful little cafes and restaurants while only a stones throw from the waterfront.

“VILLAGE WANDER”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

Loved the little old workers cottages at Arthurs Circle and the Hampden Road feel. Easy walk from Salamanca and a coffee and pastry at Jackson & McRobb is definitely the go. Wander the back streets and enjoy a bit of history. Good for the soul.
