“Beautiful suburb, Old World Hobart”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Battery Point is another place we always visit. It is the kind of suburb that is just peaceful to walk around. There are charming old houses with beautiful rose gardens (Aurthur Circus) as well as parks, shops and cafes. There is always something worth taking a picture of. Near the post office there are two excellent cafes including Environs Cafe owned by Warren. A great lunch and reasonable prices. The streets are very crowded and parking can be hard though.

“Charming little pocket...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

A visit to another world...charming little cottages line the streets, many of them Georgian. There is a real village feel. Beautiful rose gardens...a few quaint cafes and a couple of pubs where you can rest and refresh. Wear your walking shoes and don't forget your camera!
There are a few good B&Bs and staying in the precinct does enrich the experience. There is a wonderful little museum to spend an hour or two. The Shipwrights Inn has an extensive collection of sailing and shipping photographs to view over a cold beer.
Battery Point is one of my favourite places in Australia.

“Quaint but overrated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

Unless I've missed it entirely- this place seems to be just a few streets, residences and a few shops all of which are charming, quaint and very old world.

“Spectacular place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

I am visiting Battery Point and have discovered a magic place with wonderfully friendly people and spectacular views of the harbour from many vantage points around the area. The food and wine are amazing and as we have visited in early Spring, the weather is cool but very pleasant. I highly recommend staying for a week or two just to get to know the place and meet some of the locals.
