I stayed here for one night on business.

The location of the hotel is very good --- close to the docks, Salamanca, Battery Point, and the town centre. There are some very good places nearby to have a meal.

I got a room on the 1st floor which, while basic and a bit dated, was clean and had ample space. Apart from the bed, the room was equipped with a small table to work and dine on, a fridge, and the usual mini-bar amenities. Wireless internet is available for a fee.

I am all right go back here --- can't complain really about the room and, most importantly, the location!

Wireless internet is available

The reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor read quite similarly, and I think that's a pretty fair summation of things at Quest Waterfront Hobart. The hotel is well-positioned for exploring most of Hobart's city attractions, and for that reason it probably generates a good amount of clientele. The room I stayed in was furnished very basically and I agree that this hotel is closer to the 3-star mark than the 4-star mark. Okay for a couple of nights, but for a longer stay I would look for somewhere a bit more "homely", such as Hadley's. The staff here were very friendly (as I find most Hobartians to be!)

My family and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We had 2 rooms, 1 with just a queen size bed, the other with a queen and 2 singles, I'd say both were pretty much just standard rooms (I think some rooms had better tvs than ours had and these must have been better rooms).
The larger room was a great size, enough room for table, chairs lounge chairs, luggage etc and we certainly didn't feel squashed with 6 adults and 1 baby hanging out in this room.
Both rooms had sink, small fridge and microwave (microwave in the bigger room could have been cleaner) and they supplied a stove top and oven thing for us (although the stove wasn't terribly warm).
Our rooms weren't serviced on Sunday night which was a little annoying.
Also the large room would have been better if it had the double in a smaller room, part of the larger one.
Location was great, probably couldn't have been better.
Next door was a pub which had $5 parmas and $10 1 litre beers on thurs, fri and sat nights which was pretty awesome.
Car parking was a real drag, really really tight, and and out a real challenge with a rented car that we didn't want to scratch.
Price was okay.
Would stay here again, but would consider other options first.

Thank you for staying at Quest Waterfront and the feedback from your recent stay.
We offer rooms on the waterfront that are affordable and provide value for money.
All our apartments offer kitchenettes including, toaster, kettle, sinks, bar fridges and microwaves. I apologise the microwave in our Family Suite was not cleaned. I have addressed this with our housekeeping staff and will continue to monitor this. As we do not have full ovens in the rooms we have portable hotplates and toaster ovens available for use.

As a Quest Nationwide we do not service rooms on Sundays, so as to not disturb guests. As we note on the arrivals letter that we hand to all guests when they check in, your room can be serviced on Sundays on request.

We have two car parks available at the hotel. The car parking in our building is quiet small and limited. On check in we always ask about the size of the car going into car park as we understand how difficult this can be. At anytime if guests feel uncomfortable parking in these spaces we have overnight and weekend car parking available directly behind us which we always offer.

I apologise that there were some aspects of your stay that were not enjoyable and I hope the next time you are in Hobart you re-visit us.

Kind Regards

This hotel is nicely situated and is right on the dock of the bay. It is within only a 5 minute drive tot he town city centre, and is about 5 minute walk to the finest strip of dining options. The casino is also about a 15 minute drive from the hotel too.

Hobart is a great place to visit. This is my fourth visit in twenty five years. Generally speaking accommodation standards in Tasmania are poor but this hotel is a stand out. The glossy advertising with a four star rating is just not a fair go. This hotel is dingy poorly lit and run down. This hotel has one attribute - a very good location. The four star rating is just a trap.

Some brochures offer free car parking. Watch out they will try to charge you for parking. I hope the toilet seat is fixed. I could not get it repaired during my visit.

Dear PFH,
Thank you for providing feedback on your stay at Quest Waterfront. We are sorry to hear the hotel did not live up to the expectations you had from our advertising. We are rated each year by AAA tourism and therefore have a 4 star rating from this assessment. As a result of your feedback we will look at the lighting in all areas of the hotel to ensure areas are not poorly lit as suggested.
Unfortunately as commented before on this site, our car parking is limited and we therefore do our best to accommodate guests with cars and offer overnight and weekend secure lock up car parking. The charge for this is $6 per night and we have clearly stated this on all our advertising. If you could provide feedback as to where the free parking was advertised we can amend this immediately as we do not wish to mislead our guests.
Again, thank you for your feedback.
Kind Regards
Tenille

We stayed here on our Wedding night.

We checked in after reception was closed, however this was no problem. Our room was ready and waiting for us. We had chocolates and champagne ( well sparkiling Grape Juice for us as I am pregnant - such a thoughtful touch) waiting for us in our room.

The room was lovely and quiet and we felt very relaxed staying therel.
