We have stayed here before and will probably stay many more times. Good walking distance to the café/restaurant end of Elizabeth Street with loads of varied choices of menu. Parking available, so the 'out of central city' location is not a problem; buses also close to door. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless. The beautiful. and huge, garden makes it feel like a real haven - lovely to wake up to such a pleasant view.

The Elms is a lovely, well maintained, period home with all the necessary updates for a comfortable stay. There were great restaurants and shops just down the road and it was easy to get in and out of Hobart from the property. The roses in the garden were fantastic! Our hosts were friendly and accommodating about my husband's dietary needs.

Its a bit of a walk to Salamanca and the city centre but very quiet here at night. Best coffee and al fresco dining at the Rain Check Cafe down Elizabeth Street. Great bookshop attached to the National Theatre in Elizabeth street. A walk around the Mount Stuart area on the leafy streets reveals some beautiful houses from the Federation era and earlier from which the historic Elms itself belongs.
Great place to stay and unwind. Highly recommend.

Our stay was very nice. The House is an older style mansion with plenty of charm, character and atmosphere. Situated on Elizabeth St, only a short walk down to the CBD and Docks. Far enough away from the noise and bustle, but close enough to enjoy all the fine restaurants and cafes. Our hosts were very friendly and didn't hear much from the other guests. A wonderful place to stay while visiting Hobart.

We had a great night with friends at the Elms. We are locals and where looking for a relaxing night away from the kids, this accomadation was great & met our needs. The rooms have everything you will need & it was clean & comfy. The lounge is a great place to finish the night of & our hosts where great to. Restaurants are close by aswell. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

My partner and I stayed at the Elms for five nights in a superior spa suite. The property is gorgeous, with period details in amazing condition, a beautiful garden, and in a perfect spot for exploring Hobart. The CBD's a short 20 minute walk away, or else you can catch a bus from one of the nearby stops, and Elizabeth St is full of great restaurants. Hosts Tina and Raymond couldn't have been more helpful, with information about attractions, transport, food and anything else you'd be curious about. Wonderful place, will definitely be back next time we're in Hobart.

Really enjoyed our stay of 3 nights. Tina is a great host, full of useful information. The house is beautiful and the grounds are beautiful. Close to lots of eating places on Elizabeth Street but a ways from the waterfront. We had a car and was no problem , they have good on site parking.
Breakfast was continental with a wide range of choices. We had a standard queen room that was very roomy, nice big bathroom, good tv and heating options. Linens were very nice, bed was a little firm. We loved the house and host
