“Thank goodness the food was ok.”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Walked up to the counter and could not get a smile out of the girl serving. Got a buzzer that didn't go off and then the same girl came out and stated "you wanted a latte" plonked a dirty cup on the table - spilled - and then walked away. Came back with our 2nd coffee and did not speak but spilt coffee all the way to the table (still no smile either).
Was glad to get out of there.

“Warm and welcoming bakery cafe”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Visited for breakfast on 18th October
Banjos has stores in Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland. This one in Salamanca Place is located in an old warehouse and you can see and smell the excellent pies, baked goods and breakfasts cooking while you sip a coffee at the wooden tables. This is an unpretentious, warm and welcoming business serving good, fresh food from 6 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday, 6 am to 6 pm Saturday and 7 am to 5 pm Sunday. I ordered the breakfast scrambled eggs and bacon on sourdough toast, and got so much bacon I had to share it. The people are friendly and this seems to be a landmark small eatery in Salamanca Square, just off Salamanca Place.

“Find somewhere else”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

This is a review of Banjos Shoreline Howrah Appalling service. Disinterested staff. Opening line after they had finished talking amongst themselves for three minutes was a derisive. "You right?"
Ordered a loaf of white Vienna. $4.50. The loaves are getting smaller and the prices higher. A total ripoff Not as if I was buying a boutique style bread
Go to woolworths. Thirty second walk for same tasting bread at half the price
The staff at this Banjos could not care less. Showed they would far prefer to be somewhere else.
I will not be back

“Bakery at the back!”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Although not as much atmosphere as some we visited, Banjo's offers fresh, tasty and a wide variety of bakery items and reasonably priced breakfast meals. As it is situated behind busy Salamanca, it is a little more accessible and provided enough seating (inside or out) for 10 of us.

“Poor service and questionable food”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

I was there on a very busy saturday during the markets with a festival too, ordered only a sandwich and did not get a beeper, so had to stand and wait and watch while they microwaved, then grilled, then put in a bag, then left to get cold my sandwich, while the woman who served me seemed to be very ineffectual and doing nothing. The sandwich also tasted bad.
