As we were staying in the busy season (1st Jan), we couldn't book anywhere near the docks (despite booking back in Sept), so were a bit unsure of the location of The Lodge on Elizabeth, but it was a great location. It was only a 10 - 15 min walk down to the CBD and docks, but the real bonus was the fact that the restaurant strip of North Hobart was only 3 or 4 mins up the road and there was fantastic restaurants to choose from (we enjoyed Roaring Grill (steaks) and Amici (Italian)).
The room we had was fine, although limited storage space and there was occasional passing car we heard (we were in room 5), and we could hear the early morning guests going in for breakfast.
The new hosts (Jeff & Julia) ware fantastic; just the right balance of being available and helpful, without being too intrusive; they both gave a sense of calm and adding to the sense of relaxation and being on holiday! Breakfast was great, with good selection of cereals, toasts, fruit, yogurt, juices, teas, coffee, etc (didn't miss the cooked breakfast one bit!).
All in all, a great four nights in the Lodge on Elizabeth.More
