It amazes me how fussy some people are after reading some of these reviews. We have just stayed here (for the second time in about 6 years). Sure its a littled dated and could do with some modernising but its not the shambles that others have claimed. Our family of 4 had a great comfortable stay of 4 nights. Its in a great location - a couple of kms to constitution dock but local to groovy restaurants of north Hobart. There is ample free parking. The way the manor room is set up was ideal for us. A nice comfy king bed for the adults in one room and a fold down queen for the kids (10 & 4) who thought it was great to bunk together. The room was clean, well serviced daily and functional with a spaceous bathroom and kitchenette. The staff were courteous and professional. I first looked at this hotel on wotif but found it was significantly cheaper to book via their own website and joining their free priority club. It cost us not much more than $400 for the 4 nights!! Amazing value for money for a family!

I love reading about guests who enjoy their stay with us.

I will definately pass on your comments to the rest of the team and thank the housekeeping team personally for doing such a great job with your room. it is an older property and the team do work incredibly hard to make certain that the rooms are clean and Rydges Dream Beds are made properly so every one of our guests enjoy their stay.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Rydges Hobart on your next visit.

Cheers
Danny

We booked in for a 6 night stay but left after the first night. We are three senior citizens and were allocated a room upstairs with no lift available. An alternative room, 19 , was offered but was dark and depressing with no room for open suitcases and with a drop down queen sized bed in the lounge meaning no space available for relaxing. Noise from neighbouring room, plus extra charge for WiFi added to our dismay. However breakfast was superb with the chef catering for gluten free.

I never like to read that we couldn't accommodate one of our guests as i know the team try their hardest to achieve and then exceed our guests expectations. I am happy that you enjoyed the breakfast as this is something we as a company have been concentrating on for some time now.
I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to Rydges Hobart in the near future so you can see for yourself the improvements we are constantly trying to make.

Cheers

We stayed for three nights whilst attending a conference at the wrest point casino. This hotel is only 10 minutes travel from the casino and you dont normally have any peak hour traffic as you are going the opposite way. On arrival, the staff were a little reserved and blunt but after noticing that they also run the bar and restaurant bookings after 4pm - we can understand why! The company must be careful here and understanding that expenses must be contained, you still need good staff to encourage customers to return - after all customers is where your profits come from?
We paid for a top room which had a spa but noticed that there was no spa gel or bath gel to use, just soap. On enquiry with reception they stated that the spa gel is not provided! Very disappointing given the money you pay to stay in their top room. Also, it was difficult to acknowledge good staff as none of them had name badges, worth a note management.

Room Tip: Ask for the presidential suite, quality antique furniture and great views. Make sure you bring your...

Thank you for the feedback, we do get a great deal of fantastic feedback about the Presidential Suite and the general size of all of our rooms.

Appreciate your comments about the name badges and have instructed that all team members wear name badges from now on, regardless of what department they work in.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Rydges Hobart in the near future.

Booked this to use as a base for the start of our honeymoon in Tasmania. Price was ok but the room was just old and to be honest a little strange. There was also a terrible smell coming out of the garden which we had to walk past often as it was between the car and the room. Staff were a little stand offish and we really couldn't wait to leave the place

I am sorry to read that you found the room strange and would love the opportunity to speak with you and find out why. It would also be great to know which room you were in and what the smell was that came from the garden as we haven't used anything in our gardens that give off an aroma for this reason.

I do hope you give us another chance as normally some of the best feedback I receive is about the beds and the team.

I look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back to Rydges Hobart in the near future.

I stayed here for a work, and found it most suitable. The room was spacious, have a comfortable bed, and a good workspace to do computer work from the room. Parking was plentiful.

The restuarant was good (better than most), the staff were friendly and helpful.

It is my first choice for a work.

Great to read that you enjoyed your time with us and found the bed and the room comfortable.
I must admit we do receive a lot of great feedback about the Rydges Dream Beds.
I will definately pass on your comments to Chef and his team. They have been working hard to ensure each and every meal that comes out of that kitchen is top quality and it seems like it is working.
I look forward to welcoming you back to Rydges hobart in the near future.

We stayed for one night for a business trip. The room was offered at a great price. It also included breakfast. It was a 9 minute walk to where we needed to go. Great Service. The spanish waiter at dinner was fabulous. The food was great. The buffet breakfast had great variety and was presented beautifully. I didn't like the French Toast but I will pick better next time.

Chef has been working extremely hard to get the menu right and it seems that he has done so. We have also implemented the new Rydges Rise Breakfast concept into Rydges Hobart and have been receiving fantastic feedback. We have expanded the cold buffet and the hot breakfast is served a la carte, hence hot, fresh breakfast every time.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Rydges hobart in the near future as we strive to do what we do better and better.

Paid $146 for a room thinking it would be nice and was sorely let down. Dreadful curtains with rings missing and hard to pull across. Inside kitchen cupboards were peeling off, cupboard didn't close properly, drawer hard to open, water stain on wooden wall, no lounge ( two dodgy old chairs)
Coming back to Hobart next weekend and will definitely not be staying here again. Would have expected the price to be about $80 for this room at a dodgy motel not a rydges resort.

I was very disappointed to read that you didnt enjoy your stay with us. I must agree that the curtains can be difficult to open and close but the maintenance team are working their way through all the rooms to try and solve these issues.

I do hope that you will give us another chance to prove to you that we are constantly trying to achieve and exceed our guests expectations by improving what and how we do what we do.

I look forward to the oppotunity of welcoming you back to Rydges Hobart in the near future.
