Stayed for 6 nights the first night was terrible due to being placed in a room which faced the (mountain side) main road which the ambo's use to access the Hobart Hospital. Requested another room which provided and was much quieter - thank you Susan!!!
Service from all staff was friendly and accommodating at every point of stay Room was kept clean and well presented - great standard!

Grand Chancellor Hotel in Hobart is a nice hotel to stay at. We arrived early in the morning and was accommodated before check-in. The agent who helped us were very kind and accommodating. Our room was clean, spacious, and overlooked the waterfront. As we sat looking out the window, a cruise ship came into port. The waterfront was always busy with people strolling about.

We stayed here for one night last week. Check-in was very efficient and professional. Was given a complimentary room upgrade (larger room and on a higher floor) and late check out request happily granted. Rooms are very clean and of superior condition. Views over looking constitution dock make it one of the best hotels in Hobart. Would defiantly stay here again.

Room Tip: Pay the extra money to get a harbour view.

I am a regular to this lovely little bar overlooking the waterfront of Hobart. It is a bit more expensive than some places to have a quiet drink or coffee or snack but really is a lovely atmosphere and great location. Alway seem to go back here for that afternoon catch up with friends or special afternoon High Tea and at night, it just seems that little more elegant.
Cannot comment on accomodation but certain if you would like a quiet drink in a nice atmosphere, Atrium is excellent

Strongly recommend everyone to read the little conditions before booking. We were staying for 5 days and was told they charge $10 for toilet tissue and more for service for night. We did not get any service or change of linen etc for 5 days. Had to buy new towels and other necessities from nearby woollies. Car park costs $8/night, but might take hours to find parking.

Dear Yenkam,

Thanks for taking the time to comment about the hotel. We understand you have selected a green stay with the hotel when you made the booking and maybe there is some misunderstanding about what this entails. We offer a green stay so that guests can opt out of having their room serviced each day and therefore reduce their impact on the environment, therefore because we provide less, the room is offered for less. If guests later choose to have their room serviced we are happy to assist but some charges do apply. Please accept my apologies if this was not clearly explained during your stay.

Stayed in a Mountain Room with King Bed over a long weekend in February. There was no Mountain view, just a view of a dodgy looking carpark and other buildings. The rooms are nicely laid out for a hotel but very dark, the lighting needs work so if you want to read in bed, bring a book light. The room itself is pleasant enough and the bed was very comfortable. Once you leave your room though, its a bog standard 'corporate' or 'group tour' type hotel. Very uninspiring with little reason to linger in the bar or restaurant. Skipped breakfast as it was a standard buffet. Stayed was perfectly adequate, nothing to inspire you to rave about the hotel though. I would also double check whatever info on sight seeing and transport given to you by reception staff as it was proven incorrect a couple times on my visit. Location was ok, and in easy walking distance to most of the Hobart sights around the water.

Room Tip: If you have a Mountain Room, ask for one with a Mountain view, as most of them dont.

The refurbished hotel room was really good, nothing notable on the plus or minus. Only negative was the airconditioning, which we had to keep manually adjusting each time we came into the room (because it got too hot at night). The location of the hotel is fantastic, opposite Consitution Dock and a nice easy walk to all the places of interest nearby. The service was outstanding and a real effort is made by all staff to be smiling, friendly and helpful. Great job.

Room Tip: Our room was almost towards the northern end of the building and had a nice aspect towards the Tasma...
