Owner description: The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is Australia's second-oldest established in 1818. These gardens are home to the largest collection of mature conifers in the Southern Hemisphere and it also has the only subantarctic plant house in the world. A great restaurant and cafe is available onsite and it is a wonderful place to visit all year round. Visit our website for more information.

I really liked these Botanic gardens. They are set on a hill but are well documented on the map. There is a lovely cafe that has amazing scones. I found it really relaxing and loved the orchid room. A must see place when visiting Hobart. You can get the red bus there and back.

Beautiful gardens with lots to enjoy. We particularly enjoyed seeing Peter Cundall's vegie patch. Other highlights for us were the orchid conservatory and the Japanese garden

These have to be some of the nicest gardens I've been to. Well maintained, and beautifully laid out. So much to see and enjoy at any time of the year.

This is a world class botanical gardens, that every one can enjoy, with no entrance fee.
The restaurant is a big disappointment, very slow and inexperienced staff. It could be, and has
been a great place for a meal, I believe cut backs is the main reason for this. We had Sunday lunch there, and won't be back until it improves
