Owner description: The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is Australia's second-oldest established in 1818. These gardens are home to the largest collection of mature conifers in the Southern Hemisphere and it also has the only subantarctic plant house in the world. A great restaurant and cafe is available onsite and it is a wonderful place to visit all year round. Visit our website for more information.

“Beautiful Gardens, worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

These have to be some of the nicest gardens I've been to. Well maintained, and beautifully laid out. So much to see and enjoy at any time of the year.

“Wonderful gardens,restaurant disappointing.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

This is a world class botanical gardens, that every one can enjoy, with no entrance fee.
The restaurant is a big disappointment, very slow and inexperienced staff. It could be, and has
been a great place for a meal, I believe cut backs is the main reason for this. We had Sunday lunch there, and won't be back until it improves

“Enchanting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Lovely place. Nicely set out and well cared for. Several quirky little pieces providing great interest. It was a shame the Antartic section was shut.Nevertheless stunning setting and FREE entrance. Puts Kew gardens to shame with it's astronomical entrance fee.

“lunch time service very slow”

you could not get a better situation for a restaurant- the out look is amazing. The food was very tasty, but the service was way to slow for a business lunch-
