The 'Daci&Daci' had been recommended to me as a place for breakfast by my accomodation, but since it was a bit far I came here for a tea in the afternoon. There is an elevated terrace by the sidewalk of Murray Street in Central Hobart, but I chose to sit in the elegant interior with its polished stone floor, modern chandeliers, white walls, golden framed mirrors, tables topped with black marble, chairs and benches covered in black leather and the waiting staff dressed in black as well with a black apron.
The stylish place reminded me of a French Patisserie and in fact - as I then read - it was founded in 2011 by a couple of European background (Kosovo and England). There is a shop attached to the café and many people come here just to buy something. The menu card is extensive - with Breakfast items, with Viennoiseries, Savouries, Petis Gateaux and Patisserie.
My choice had been a 'Lime, Rum and Mint Chiboust', since I didn't remember, when I last tasted a chiboust, that very special merengue-custard sweet, invented in Paris in the mid 19th century. I enjoyed it. With it I drank an Earl Grey Tea, served in the pot. The professional and friendly staff asked me, if I wanted milk on the side with it and later came to enquire, if everything was okay. Payment by credit card was possible at the table.
