After reading urbanspoon and seeing that this place has on of the best % ratings we rang and made a booking.
From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly but not pushy, we ordered and within 10 mins our entrees had arrived, delicious!
The tandoori chicken is some of the best we have had.
Our ever attentive waitress clearned our plates and soon afterour mains arrived.
Now I know butter chicken, It is what I always order, and this is good butter chicken. Scratch that GREAT butter chicken. My partner loved his korma, the nann bread was lovely and fresh and the rice perfectly cooked.
Winner.

When friends booked this restaurant I must admit I didn't even realise it existed, but was looking forward to a better dining experience than the last Hobart Indian restaurant! With the restaurant less than half full we were placed at a table near the front door and I had to close the door after departing patrons on numerous occasions! Whilst the staff were friendly they had to be prompted to take initial drink orders and only once in our time there did they come and top up wine glasses, and not once did they offer more drinks without prompting! Entrees were varied, but the fish tikka served on a warm plate was dry and rubbery! Mains were inconsistent with the Goat dish inconsistent in quality, some pieces of meat in all dishes were tough! Never were we asked whether or not we would like extra spice. Plenty of rice and naan selections were great! We didn't stay for desert! A disappointing meal with disappointing service!

Service was very slow, drinks took forever to arrive even though there was only one other table! The food was mild to the point of bland. We weren't asked if we would like it spicy so I assume it was "dumbed down" for western palates. Having travelled extensively in India for a long period of time the food here in no way represented good Indian food. We asked to see the dessert menu but it didn't come, nor an offer of coffee so we ended up leaving after 25 minutes of waiting. Disappointing.

Great Butter Chicken and Goat Curry, served with naan. Recommend it to anyone who is visiting Hobart and looking for quality Indian food.

So far the best Indian restaurant I've tried in Hobart. The food was excellent - particularly the house special goat curry and the service was fantastic. They were attentive adn freindly without being intrusive. It's not a fancy fine dining atmosphere - more a family friendly restaurant. We ate early so it was quiet but busy by the time we left but service was still there. Will definitely return.
