Description: After over 25 years welcoming guests from all over the world we are proud of our passion and respect for the food and service we provide to our customers. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days (except Christmas day). In 2003, the original Customs House Hotel took over the ship chandlery building next door on Morrison Street, and transformed it into our award winning restaurant. The original sandstone has been restored giving a feeling of history and charm with 100 seats in a waterfront setting, our restaurant is a staple in the Hobart dining scene. We are proud to use only the freshest local ingredients including East Coast shellfish and wallaby from Bagdad. Our extensive wine list showcases local and national wines chosen to compliment the array of dishes we have on offer. In 2016 our Al Fresco dining area was upgraded to be one of the best outdoor dining locations on the Waterfront, perfect for lazy days of great food and people watching.

Ordered the pumpkin gnocchi. No pumpkin. Heavy dumplings that tasted of flour no sauce to bind together the steamed veg. Inedible.

We ate at this restaurant twice, once on a Friday evening and again a week later on a Sunday night. On both occasions we enjoyed the meals. However one tip is that Hobart, particularly anywhere around Salamanca Square, gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights so reservations for any resturant in this precinct are recommended. We didn't have a reservation for the first encounter, on the Friday evening, and the restaurant was packed. However, the staff were really accommodating and offered us dinner in the bar area, on the lounges, which we readily took. All 4 of our party were very impressed with their seafood pasta dishes. We made a reservation for our return visit and the place was busy but not as busy as the Friday night. Being a Sunday night it seemed a bit more relaxed and although the food was enjoyable it didn't quite reach the heights of the earlier occasion. Perhaps it was our meal choices on this night so I wouldn't rate it down for that. The beers were good and the wine list varied and interesting. We will go back to eat there the next time in Hobart.

Had a lovely dinner here. Relaxed atmosphere and decor. It was busy on a Sunday night, so obviously popular. Good location. Staff were very friendly.

We had lunch after checking out the Salamanca markets - expected it to be busy but it wasn't. It was warm weather so we appreciated the air conditioned room.

The menu is reasonably extensive and well priced. We had seafood basket, grilled fish and the pulled pork roll. It was served fast and was all tasty. They also have a good range of drinks, including Pagan Cider from the Huon Valley. The cherry cider is delicious.

We were too full to eat anything but the main courses. The restaurant is also in the Entertainment Book so we got 25% off.
