Did the ghost tour and straight from the start we had door opening and closing with footsteps and it was a toilet we found out. Known for spooky action. Very interesting tour but tour guide liked to scare you every now and then. Added to the creepiness of the night . Overall great place to check out. Tour goes for hr to 90 minutes

A must do when in Hobart, the history of this place and the stories the tour guide provided was excellent. If you are chasing the convict history of Hobart or Australia, this is a MUST

The Ghost Tour is done at night only a few times per week. It was well priced and a lot of fun. I did not see any Ghosts, but still a good time. The only down side is that the place is not very big and therefore you do not see wide range of different places. The tour guide and his daughter claim to have many ghost encounters there - almost too many to make it believable. Would not be a good tour is you are not able to walk well - you have to go down small stair cases etc.

Having been to the Old Melbourne Gaol, we were keen to visit the prison in Hobart. The tour guide Barry took us and another couple on a 2 hour tour around the old chapel and prison. The building is in great condition and has been lovingly restored. Barry was full of information and clearly has a passion for the history of the site. This attraction has an incredible history and I advise you to drop in and learn about life in the prison, hear stories about inmates, walk in the tunnels under the chapel and see the hidden parts of the building. Definitely worth the visit, got more out of it that we expected!

A really interesting place. I found it by accident, when I walked past it one day. You can do tours of the old jail, that take about 2 hrs and the cost is $12. They also do ghost tours at night.

An interesting fact, is that this place is also older than Port Arthur.

The tour is a very informative tour, that went into many details of not only the chapel but the courthouse that it became, the convicts and the mysteries that surround this fascinating place. The tour concludes at the gallows.

i really enjoyed it and the place isn't advertised that much. Still its located in the heart of Hobart, near the TAFE college.
