What an amazing glimpse into the history of convict life! The building itself is constructed of convict hand-made bricks. The restoration work is fascinating, as are the underneath tunnels and the history surrounding this place - right down to the hangman's gallows and the inmate cells. The tour is conducted by a very knowledgeable guide who not only gives insight into the history of the building, but also imparts information about the convicts themselves and the ghosts who still roam the tunnels!! (If you believe!)
Definitely a "must do" on your trip to Hobart.
