Felt like we had just popped into our local restaurant around the corner. Warm, inviting, good wine and food. Husband and wife team doing it well. Loved their own chorizos and Catalonia creme.
If u want to get out of the tourist area go here.

This place is authentic Spanish cuisine, decor and wine. My husband and I shared four tapas dishes for a late dinner one night, accompanied by a lovely bottle of Spanish Tempranillo. The menu has a great selection of tapas and also entrees, mains and dessert for those who want them. We were in Spain in 2004 on our honeymoon and Fransisco's took us back there for an hour or two. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, reading the bullfighting posters on the wall (and realising how bad our Spanish really is) and revelling in the atmosphere. The restaurant isn't very fancy, but the food and ambience is just how I'd want it to be. And you can't beat the location - right on Hampden Road opposite the pub.

We have just eaten at Franciscos. the food was just wonderful. I went with my husband and his elderly mum. We had the spinach and little meat skewers to start and then the calamari, prawns and pork as mains. The food was truly delicious and the wine we had complimented it. The price was fine. It was a busy night and the place was full - it was a bit warm inside and very noisy. I would certainly go back again but would try to go at a less busy time.

Second time back only reinforced our prior impression of the great food and quiet family ambience. Small bar and private courtyard if you want to start with drinks first. Impressive menu of tapas, mains and chefs specials. Try the Zarzuela, mixed seafood in a saffron-infused tomato broth. Book several days ahead even on a weekday - both times we were there, several groups were turned away because they were full. Location is ideal, on a quiet street, just up the Kelly steps in Salamanca Place. If you stay at Lenna's as well, you will have found two little gems to try during your visit to Hobart.
