Description: Welcome to Pigeon Hole Cafe, where we aim to give you a true Paddock to Plate Experience. We have our very own farm, Weston Farm, and receive produce daily with much of our menu showcasing our fresh and seasonal produce. Everything that is noted in green on our menu is grown and harvested with love by Weston Farm. Weston Farm is a small family business that focusses on sustainable, and seasonal farming practices. We further enhance the farm connection by involving our chefs in a farm rotation program, where they plant and harvest the food they showcase on the menu. We also preserve, pickle and bottle our own fruits and vegetables for you to enjoy all year round. Pigeon Hole supports a closed loop waste system, with all organic waste like cardboard, coffee grounds, egg shells, peelings and off-cuts return to the farm for composting, back to earth, where it began. All other food scraps are fed to Weston Farm's pigs "Rosie" Lola" and "Lilly". We hope you love our unique experience!

Stopped by for a late breakfast and found a very busy and welcoming space. Great coffee and the homemade baked beans on the great sourdough were very yummy. Highly recommended for breakfast.

The reviewers that said this place was overrated and pretentious was right! It is a odd kind of place, there's table service but no menus, you have to read off the blackboard which is fine but they don't tell you. Instead we were ignored for 10 mins and then they came to take our order, then we had to getup and look at the menu and try and catch their attention again.

Would have been nice if they had said something during one of the many times they walked past us (we were sitting right next to the kitchen so not tucked away in a corner).

Food was ok but I regretted not going back to Machine Laundry Cafe instead. Food is better and service is great.

Read about Pigeon Hole and was interested to try it for breakfast. Went with husband and two kids aged 10 and 8. Kids didn't like anything on the limited menu so they had a chocolate chip biscuit and a lemon cake (which was not the plan for a healthy start to the day). Husband ordered baked eggs and I had the baked beans. The beans were quite delicious, albeit a small serving! Baked eggs had very little flavour but were saved only by the cured ham (Jamon). Menu had French descriptions without translation (I'm not fluent in French....). Coffee was OK. Over priced for what we had. Service was a little "relaxed"......Wouldn't go back.

I read a very positive review of The Pigeon Hole before taking 3 other people for lunch, when visiting Hobart last week. I grew up not far from the location and was excited at the prospect of lunching there. What a huge disappointment. In fact, I was on the verge of angry. The food was a joke. Perhaps we should have foreseen this when trying to read the illegible blackboard menu! We asked for it to be read to us, but even then we had difficulty understanding what was said. The food was third rate. If the bread was indeed home baked, then they should give that away and order some in. Other reviewers I note have mentioned the barista's skills but I have to say they were nothing to warrant writing about. Note to proprietors: Get out and about more and rethink what you are doing before expecting people to pay for what you offer.
