We visited the Female Factory as part of Louisa's Walk tour (highly recommended).
There is not much to see without a guide bringing the history to life - and there are a couple of guided tour options at the site.
We learned of the horrible conditions endured by the women prisoners and their children. An interesting insight into Australia's history and great to see that the site is being protected and restored.
