Description: There’s waterfront dining, then there’s Pier One Restaurant. On a sunny day out on the deck, you could almost dip your toes in. This casual, bright Hobart restaurant is your place to sit with a chilled Tasmanian sparkling, good friends and delicate oysters. There’s something about dining in Hobart right by the water; interesting full flavour fare and plenty of seafood goodness. Why not share something from the Light Menu - everything from local cheese plates to exquisite Tasmanian seafood pizzas. Pier One is Wrest Point Tasmania’s definition of relaxed, quality dining by the water’s edge. Open from 11am daily until late Lunch from 12pm Dinner from 6pm

“Exquisite dining experience”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

On Friday, 13 December six of us dined at Pier One. It was a busy evening but we felt we were the only ones there because the service was so attentive (and genuine). I have eaten at Pier One many times and always enjoy it - this time however was extra special. It wasn't just the great company or excellent service, the buzzy atmosphere or the brilliant view . It was the sensational food - the menu is well thought out with something for everyone. We all had three delcious courses which were beautifully presented. Our Tassie wine enhanced the enjoyment and, oh my goodness, the Espresso Martini at the end of the meal was to die for. Can't wait to go back!

“Romantic and fun night”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We looked at the menu and strolled in to see if they had a free table. The staff were very prompt and attentive to ensure we had the perfect table for us. Our waitress was amazing and bantered with my fiance over the menu and wine list. The food was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked - could not fault the prawn entree or the duck and salmon mains. Desserts looked beautiful but just could not fit them in. The whole night was magical and greatly due to the staff. Thankyou

“Two Strikes and Your Out”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

I have been to Pier One twice this year. The first time was in July and it was my birthday. The service was excellent and most food on this occasion was good. However I was served a steak which tasted off to me and two other people at the table tasted it and agreed with me. It was sent back and another cooked. The chef came out to apologise but would not admit the steak had been off - his comments were: it was fresh in today, maybe it was the bacon etc.etc. After a long wait the next one came out and was definitely better but the chef needs to brush up on his sauce preparation as red wine in gravy is not red wine jus. I can make better at home myself. I let this slide as I thought he was having an off night. However our family visited again last week for another family birthday. We were told we couldn't order until 7 which we tried to do at 7 as we had 4 young children in our party. To cut a long story short, the kids meals eventually arrived at 8.30 and of course they were so hungry they would have eaten anything. One ordered fish and chips and half way through the fish she discovered red uncooked blood in the flesh of the fish. Once again after a complaint the chef came out and told us it was pink link and you expect that! Uncooked blood in fish, I don't think so. Why can't this chef just admit that he has stuffed up, stop making excuses, apologise and tidying himself up before many more customers walk out like our family has. The rest of us got our meals at 9 and most were nothing startling. Not the quality of food or service you expect from Wrest Point!

“Great Location, Nice Food”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Visited mid week and after reading previous reviews, not sure if they have improved or we just ordered the nicer meals. As is was midweek it was a bit quiet with a few business people eating alone. The view is lovely, day or night and overlook the water. It is bright and modern and yes if its a quiet night, it may not have a lot of atmosphere but sometimes that is nicer than lots of people and noise. I had the Salmon and it was excellent. Cooked perfectly and the accompanying vegetables all tasty. My partner had the steak and said it was excellent. Our daughter had a pizza and it was far more than she could eat and it was lovely. No complaints from any of us and we will certainly be back. The menu is not an extensive menu but does cater for all tastes, Prices are normal restaurant prices within $20=$30 for main course and the wine and drink prices reasonable. It is positioned in the lower part of Wrest Point Casino with views across the water to the Eastern Shore of Hobart and in summer would be lovely sitting outside enjoying the views.

Thank you for your kind comments. The restaurant team have been working extremely hard to ensure constant improvement in the service and food so it is great that this is recognised. The views are spectacular and can be enjoyed now on a Sunday morning as we will be opening for Brunch from October 6th from 9.30am. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Andrew Fox, Hotel Manager
