“Fated to shut down.”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

This is the worst cruise that I have ever been in my life. Good kind staff, but bad service. Could you shut down the business before someone else experienced another lost of their fingers and the captain did NOTHING? . What a shame to the Tassie culture. I swear, save those money for a pizzas instead !!!

“We got the bonus”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

We were walking past & thought what the heck. 4 course meal + 2.5 hour cruise for $49.00. Have spent a lot more for much less.
Little worried at age & condition of boat.
The food was fair for the price. We had chicken soup for starters & the wife had the fish while I enjoy the Tassie lamb chops.
It so happened that was the evening that there were to be firework for the tall ships. Bargain! Great view from boat out in the bay.
The staff work VERY hard to please everyone & were very obliging.
With a little structure & basic service training it will get better.
Also without spending a heap of money, a little refurbishment on the boat would not go astray.

“New owner”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

I am sad about the reviews and the experiences some people have had.
There is a new owner. A young Chinese man bought it two months ago and is very enthusiastic. I hope he will be able to smarten up the vessel and give a much needed GOOD service and experience on the river. The business is called Lady Jane Cruises which is painted on the ticket office on Brooke St Pier Hobart and the Boat is the same name. Apparently Jane was the name of Captain Fell and they no longer own the business.

“Where to start?”
Reviewed September 22, 2013 via mobile

We booked this cruise during the tall ships festival as it advertised as being a tall ship cruise with a large photo of a sailing ship on the poster. It wasn't till the old ferry arrived to pick us up that we realised we'd been duped. They even had a "tall ships cruise menu" selling meat pies and other as sad fare for $8 a pop.

The cruise went very slowly round the harbour in an attempt to fill the hour with as little exertion as possible on the part of the cruise company and then returned to the jetty. The crew was comprised of Captain Fell himself and a young crew member.

When we got back to the dock the crew member got her hand caught in the mooring ropes and her thumb was severed. The few tourists on board applied first aid, called the emergency services, lowered the gangway and comforted the crew member. Captain Fell did nothing. At one point he was asked where his first aid kit was and he replied "do we need one?".

All in all it was a really bad experience. Even without the accident at the end it was awful.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

“Relaxing Cruise”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We opted for the 2 1/2 hour lunch cruise. At $45 ea for an included 2-course lunch and free wine, we found the relaxing venture down and then up the harbour, to be worth the money. The commentary on historical and current matters might have been a little more embellished, but the slow pace of the boat was well received after recent hectic traveling.
