Dined here on a very quiet night but the food was good. The presentation of the plate was OK just but the cooking was great. Fillet steak was cooked perfectly and flathead was also. I would suggest this would be even better on a busy night. Prices were OK

Found a cosy corner by the fire to meet friends for coffee and ended up staying for lunch - soup and sandwiches which you can't really go wrong with. Both were good and served hot and promptly. It was market day but not too busy and an oasis of calm from what was happening on the street. The staff was friendly and attentive. Oh, and the loos were nice and clean.

Decided to head in for a wine on a Saturday night and stayed for dinner. The service of the staff was very good in attending to us and accommodating us at a busy time at last minute.

Ordered only mains- lamb and duck. Both were around $30. The duck came out and was three small pieces of rare duck breast surrounded by a small amount of risotto (I could have counted the grains relatively easily.) I like rare duck meat. But this was woefully cooked, resulting in the duck being inedible (was like sucking on mildly duck flavoured rubber.)

Lamb was ok. I say ok, but compared to the duck it was 5 star. In other circumstances it would have been average. It came with potato bake, the portion being akin to a small stack of 20c pieces.

The place tried way too hard to be gourmet. But really failed any sort of quality food.

I recommend you head in for a drink- its enjoyable to sit out the front or back and enjoy a glass of wine. Don't eat there. Seriously. You're better off trying to chew your arm off or starving.

My familly decided to try this restaurant as it's in the premier strip of eateries in Hobart.
Although it was a Sunday night there were a few patrons there.
To cut a long story short we ordered, mine main was a Gnochi. It arrived via a very friendly waitress. I looked at the plate and assumed it wasn't mine as it had only 6 gnochi on the plate. When quizzed was this an entre, the waitress left to enquire and returned with the answer which was this was the main. We called, what seemed to be the senior waiter and was told that yes that was it. Now this waiter not at any stage was rude or negative to the contrary was extremely polite and helpful and also agreed that this was a very small serving.
My complaint is nothing to do with the waiters/ waitress nor service, but just the fact that I was charged $ 27.00 for 6 gnochi.

I was staying in the apartments above the restaurant so ate here a few times.
Pros - The restuarant is gorgeous, and in a great location.
Cons - The waitors werent very attentive. And the meals took a while to come out. My breakfast was often cold (when it should have been hot!).
Just needs some tweaking and it will be great.
