Owner description: Cape Borda Lightstation is in a stunning location upon the cliffs overlooking Investigator Strait. To discover the maritime history of the area you can take a tour of the lighthouse and visit the museum. Don't miss the daily cannon firing on the 12.30pm tour!

Just back from a magnificent visit to Kangaroo Island. Saw all three lighthouses but the best experience was Cape Borda Lightstation. Mick was our guide and was unbelievable value. Great knowledge and very funny. I would go back again just to see hear more of Mick's stories

Make sure you do the12:30 tour for the canon firing - really interesting and informative. Rough corrugated road for last bit of the drive don't let this put you off - its just a bit of dirt.

If I had just taken a self-guided tour I would have been in and out in 10 minutes, but our guide gave a very interesting account of the history and significance of the lighthouse. Definitely a must if in the area. Gotta get there for the 12.30 tour.

Our guide,Trevor was very informative and friendly, he really does love his job. We really got an insight to the hard life of the times. We did the walk down to the lookout, the view was really worth it steep cliffs, rolling surf. We made our lunch in the covered BBQ area, there were wallabies and blue Jays everywhere, only bad thing was the road was very corrugated, the destination was worth it though. We also checked out the cemetery and Harvey's Return, before heading south to Admirals Arch.

Mick led us on a great tour! Very informative......the only working lighthouse in South Australia...the others are just beacons! Short and squat, but great for people who hate climbing stairs!
The cannon fires at 1 pm every day to let ships know the time. Great remote place to visit and would be worth seeing the zebra rocks at Harvey's return nearby.
