Waves and Wildlife Cottages

Kangaroo Island lived up to our expectations as a great holiday escape for the family and Waves and Wildlife was an excellent choice for us. The sunset each night, with the kangaroos grazing on the hillside, and the views across the bay were spectacular. I enjoyed clambering through the hidden rock tunnel o the beach and rock-pool; and the family had a refreshing swim at nearby Snellings Beach after a day of touring the South Coast. Our three bedroom cottage was comfortable and well appointed; I cooked on the verandah BBQ each night; and our host Paul looked after us very well.

Room Tip: All of the cottages have great views across the headland and Stokes Bay

We spent 4 days at this marvelous accommodation nested in a serene environment amidst abundant wild life, breathtaking views and a private beach. Never seen this many Kangaroos before. Getting itself in to the beach through the rock tunnel itself triggers plenty of excitement. The rock pool is ideal for kids and families. This is our third time to the Island and we wish that we knew this place earlier. Our first visit to Paul's place was mindblowing. Never experienced wild life as close as this and all of us had good time irrespective of age. This is probably the best place to be in KI. Thanks Paul and Katja

A group of four of us enjoyed an excellent stay at Waves and Wildlife. The cottages were situated on a clifftop with fantastic views of Strokes Bay. The amenities were excellent with two double bedrooms as well as a twin room for those with children, and a separate toilet and shower room. The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything we needed for cooking and the people in the office were most accommodating when we had run out of milk. Overall, all of us would strongly recommend this accommodation and its location made it ideal for venturing to different parts of the island.

Great place!
Clean and homely, peacefully set amongst nature, a stone's throw from the beach.
Kangaroos hang about at various times munching, resting and living their lives in this wonderful spot.

The owners are so lovely too.

Enjoy and Thank you Katja and Paul :)

We only spent a couple of nights at Waves and Wildlife...but had a wonderful time. Very relaxing, very quiet and amazing views over Stokes Bay especially at sunset. Short stroll to a secluded beach with turquoise water was lovely. The cottage was clean and has everything you need...and the service was fantastic, very friendly and very helpful. Can only recommend! We'll be back for sure :)

At first we were wondering that after booking it said we needed a car to get there and around. So we went to rent a car on Kangaroo Island which came along with quite some additional costs (we rented a SUV because there are so many unsealed roads on KI and there is a small piece of unsealed road to get to the cottages)

So when we arrived after 45 min drive from Kingscote we found a great place, there were kangaroos all aound the cottages and the view over the cliff to Stokes Bay was just beautiful. The cottage itself was very modern, spacious, clean and comfortable. It had a TV and a DVD player. The owner were very nice about everything and lend us some DVDs. As well, there were fly screens in front of the windows and in front of the door, it really helps to keep thse bugs outside, escpecially at night.

The owners were really helpful. At one point the gas did not work, they came right away to help and could fix everything right away.

With our car we went to explore the island. It was worth renting it and it was worth coming out here. We liked our stay so much, thank you Katja and Paul!

During my stay on Kangaroo Island I was very pleased with my stay at Waves & Wildlife Cottages.
The location is stunning with Stokes bay still being one of my all time favorite beaches. The cottage is super clean and has a simple but very nice interieur in a very calm and quiet surrounding.
In the evening you can enjoy the sunset while having a barbecue or just sit and watch the kangaroos and other wildlife grazing just in front of you. In case you need anything you can call the owners pretty much anytime.
As I already mentioned, the beach is magnificant. Its only a short walk away down the cliff and after you walk through a nice and short rock tunnel the view opens up.
Its also great for children, since there is a small rock pool which protects from the oceans swell. And if you dont mind the cold water, snorkeling can be a very pleasent experience on a calm day.
Overall a great stay and I can highly recommend it.
