Really enjoyed staying at the Lookout Cave. The room was comfortable and very clean and the hosts, Nick, Jane and Sam were wonderful and very friendly. They are very knowledgeable about Coober Pedy and can point you in the right direction what ever you want to do. Nothing was any trouble for them to help. The room were a constant temperature around 24 -25 degrees, which was welcome from the heat outside. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. will defintitely come back next time in Coober Pedy.

Upon arriving in Coober Pedy and thinking what we were doing in such a dust-ridden place, the Lookout Cave was a welcome and refreshing relief. Well located, and as the name suggests, it overlooks the town of Coober Pedy.

The room was amazing, and very clean and well appointed. Sam was a great host and pointed us in the right direction for food.

The Lookout Cave is certainly a gem in the rough. AAAA++++

We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable sleeping underground could be. At first, we had thought it would be claustrophobic but the room was large enough to allay that feeling. The ventilation was good and our room was very clean. The walls were sealed to stop dust from falling off them. The room temperature was a very comfortable 25 degrees C and I guess in summer it would be the same. There are fans in the rooms to help move the air around. Our room had a small window opening onto the central corridor to aid in ventilation but noise transfer was not a problem. The management were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in the family room with 5 of us, which was just big enough. The motel has a very relaxed feel, the owner is very helpful but will guide you to places that he has a vested interest, which is not unusual but just a warning. The pizza place recommended was rubbish, try a different one! Also he recommended a mine tour on the highway that seemed very expensive, we chose to go to the Old Timers Mine and really enjoyed that and a lot cheaper (no brochures to be found at the motel, found it on TA)

A little out of town which is good. Rooms are clean and a reasonable fit out . Different staying underground but a good experience. Check in a little disorganised but everything else is fine. Try out for something different.
