An absolutely fabulous place to stay in the middle of the desert. Very comfortable and cozy... This place is a well kept secret. The service was excellent!! The B&B is amazing. Perfect for an underground get away....and close to town. Take time to cool off in your own private pool.

This B & B is a lovely find in the middle of the barren outback. It was 110 degrees when we visited Coober Pedy, but it was a cool 72 degrees downstairs in this lovely underground B & B. It is open and spacious, so no feeling of claustrophobia. We were supplied with ample provisions for a lovely breakfast. The plunge pool right outside our door was an instant way to lower our body heat after touring the town and opal mines. Our hosts were lovely and informative.

I had never thought the 'room' we would get would be this big. It really was a complete apartment, dug out of a cave. We got a warm welcome and a quick tour and were left to do our own thing. There were some nice surprises like a christmas gift (as it was christmas day).

Our stay was part of a 5 week trip to the outback. It was good to have self catering facilities along with spacious, comfortable accommodation for 4 adults. Rose and Alex were very welcoming and helpful.

We stopped at Coober Pedy on our long road trip to Ayers Rock from Adelaide. Down to Erth B&B was 5 minutes out of town (preferable!), peaceful, and spotlessly clean. Rose and Alex (hosts) were most hospitable. We felt safe and secure here.

Our first trip up the middle of Australia and planning a stay in Coober Pedy wanted to experience what it would be like to live underground and we definately made the best choice of accomodation. Everything was perfect really enjoyed having dinner sitting outside in the bbq area our hosts were so helpful and friendly. This was our first experience of a B and B and nothing has lived up to it so far

We stayed here on our honeymoon from 24-26 November 2009, during a trip round Australia. After a long and exhausting journey we were delighted to arrive at Down to Erth. I must admit that I was initially rather confused by the landscape (a first time visitor to Coober Pedy), but we had an extremely warm welcome from Rose and were looking forward to exploring the B&B. We were not disappointed. The accommodation is fantastic, beautifully appointed and with nice finishing touches. The washing machine was a massive bonus! Sadly the weather was cold and wet so no opportunity to use the splash pool, but the accommodation was warm and felt like a home-from-home despite being underground. Rose and Alex were keen to offer sight-seeing tips and had picked us up a bbq pack from the local supermarket for our arrival. Provided you have your own transport (and I assume that it's quite unlikely that you would come to Coober Pedy without it), this is a fantastic base and a lovely place to come home to after a day's exploring.
