Description: Mesa Lunga is a lively Spanish restaurant and bar focusing on delicious tapas treats, wine and cocktails. Along with our regular menu, the kitchen's daily specials are all about using wonderful local produce to serve dishes you just want to eat. Next door is our Sangria Bar which lists over 30 different types of Sangria - perfect for that pre or post dinner beverage.

On Adelaide's fantastic Gouger Street restaurant strip, Mesa Lunga is right up there with the very best. Their Chef's selection tapas menu has something for everyone and a fabulous range of gluten free offerings - which is great for me, and service is top class.
Starting the evening at the adjoining 'Sangria' bar is great fun - the bar staff are true artists and their daily special suggestions always worth a try - order a jug and take it through to Mesa Lunga to finish while your various plates of tapas process in through the evening.

Make a booking! This place is popular and with good reason. The tapas are outstanding, with a very diverse menu of clever little food to keep your buds happy. Carafes of sangria are but a request away (there is a much larger selection in the sangria bar next door and you can waltz on over and grab one or three).

The restaurant and bar area are small and chances are good that you won't get in unless you've made that all-important booking, but the food and sangria is outstanding. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the night out.

Went on recommendation of a friend for a night out with another couple. We're squashed onto a 'tapas table' wedged between a wall and the bar. Constantly jostled by waiters and patrons at the bar trying to get past which made it feel like we were eating on the platform of a train station! The music and other noise was so loud the waiters couldn't even hear our order. We had only been there 10 mins and we got told we had to hurry up and order our food as the kitchen was very busy! We then were told that the dishes would come out in any order whatever the kitchen could manage. Got our first dishes quite quickly and then waited an hour to receive the rest!! Waiter was so rude and just told us we had to wait because it was so busy. Food was good when it eventually arrived but will never go back.

Went to Mesa Lunga on a recommendation of a friend as a place of good sangrias on a Friday night. We just had $9- sangria drinks there, prices of a caraft of sangria is $38- + all other drinks are pretty pricey too in the menu. The sangria tasted like watered down wine and had some strawberry's in the glass. We didn't have the food but it smelt really amazing at a table next to us, looked like small portions. Most likely very expensive too.

They were playing latin music and the volume was all the way up and so loud you had to shout to have a conversation with the person next to you, very annoying to have to endure that loudness. So we left and went to another bar.

Apart from the annoyingly volume, the place is pretty swanky with a large selection of drinks.

Located on Gouger street, where there are many other restaurants and also there is are many other bars on Gouger street too.

Hope this review is helpful :)

Went with friends and sat at 'tapas tables, as they would only allow table bookinga at 6.00pm and 8.30pm- neither of which suited us.
Rather than ordering from the menu, we just asked the waitress to bring us a selection of tapas dishes. This worked well until they forgot to stop! Everything we had was delicious, it just ended up being too much! We sampled each of the sangrias also -well worth a try as only one was anything like what we expected. Service was good, the clientele was a mixture of ages and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves so atmosphere was great. We will be going back.
