The lunch menu gives you a variety of options to select from. The staff are attentive but not pushy or do not rush you into ordering. The staff obviously have received good tuition from the chef answering numerous questions without delay. The food was impeccable but on an average $40 for main course. Can't wait to try it gain next time I am in Adelaide and try at night. Be warned as the university is in close proximity if there is a graduation, the restaurant does book out. Best to book if you want to be close to the river.

My husband and I had dinner at Jolley's a couple of months ago and we were so impressed, that we went again a couple of weeks ago.
This time, service was very slack.
We waited for at lease a good 20mins before someone came for our drink orders, another 20mins (which we had to ask) for our menus, not to mention how long we had to wait for food!
We ordered a very nice pricey wine, finally when it came, it was the wrong year ( 2003 not 20010), my husband pointed this out, to which our very complacent waited said, that is all we have.
Fault on our side for accepting it as it was on the verge of going off, again the waiter shrugged it off.
It is a shame, because it only takes one but experience, the food can be good, but if the service it not, it puts one off from going back.
It will be along time before we return. There are plenty of other reliable restaurants that we will spend our money at.

An Adelaide institution, somehow our first visit. Some TA reviews left me a little concerned. No need, we found excellent food combined with excellent service, combined with a nice SA red, we had a great evening.
Service was quite slow, however, it's not the place to be if you're in a hurry.
Entrees arrived very quickly after ordering, but mains took forever. This was tempered by the waiter appearing with a complimentary salad, while we waited.
The biggest concern is it is very pricy for Adelaide standards, so not tremendous value, but worth a revisit, when we will try the tasting menu.

This restaurant is a little pricey, but the food is exceptional and the service excellent. It is right next to the River Torrens with a pretty outlook. It's about a 5 minute walk from the centre of Adelaide.

We really liked the position of the restaurant by the river with attractive views of the water, green banks and trees. We were a family party of seven with a 20 month-old for whom a high chair was provided. I told the waitress that some of our guests had to leave early and she could not have been more helpful. The baby and her mother arrived late, making it more complicated as to time restraints, so the waitress suggested we share some entree plates and order for the baby's mother. We did that and it worked out perfectly. The pork belly entree was delicious as were the cheese balls. All of us enjoyed our mains, the steak was huge and beauifully cooked with a real outdoor grill flavour. The snapper and barramundi were also very good. The baby became restless and the waitress provided her with crayons and paper, allowing her to draw in the waiting area next to us. We were very impressed with the kind, thoughtful and efficient waitress who made sure our meals were served in time so that some people could leave early, and also helped entertain the little one so her mother could eat in peace. It was quite expensive but as a special occasion get-together with family it was worth it.
