“Consistently good”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

I dine here usually every few of months for dinner. The food and service are consistently good. The waiters have extensive knowledge of food and wine and are always willing to make recommendations. They are very attentive and helpful. I like that they show their personalities while maintaining professionalism - it adds to the atmosphere.

The menu isn't extensive and often I find myself stuck on what I would like - I am not a big pasta fan. They often have specials, but seasonal menus would be fantastic.

The food has always been nice but sometimes the steak is not cooked evenly, which can be disappointing. The dessert menu however is another story; a tasting plate is needed.

The restaurant has a cafe-style feel and look, which can either be a good thing or a bad thing. It hits the mark for couples, older families, friends and business diners.

Two entrees, two mains, two desserts and a bottle of wine will cost approximately AUD$300.

“Consistently excellent”

I've been to Chianti Classico several times, both throughout the week for lunch and Friday and Saturday nights, and I am yet to be disappointed. The staff are always helpful and attentive. The food is consistently top notch. Great wine selection. The price is on the mark for this caliber food and service. Well done.

“Dont waste your time”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

I went with three other people to share the experience, great service by the staff. The first course arrived, a tasting plate, it was beautiful. The second course was spanner crab in pasta, so dry that you could not draw the pasta up onto the falk with out breakage, very poor. I ordered a fillet steak, medium rare, it arrived rare to blue and was full of sinue and very small (100 to 150gm) at best, another had a seafood dish nearly all muscles not much else another had skate (fish) not very nice and the other person had the spanner crab as a main and was just as dry.Desert was ok but overpriced for what it was.

“Great time”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

We went to dinner during the week for dinner with 6 friends, we had a great time!

The good - the food and drinks were fantastic! We really liked that even though we were sitting outside and it was cold and windy, we got little blankets.

The bad -
at times it took the waiter a wait to get around to us to order initially and make more drink orders.
the outdoor chairs look exactly that like, outdoor chair, they look very cheap not something you expect from a 5* restaurant ...

“Hutt Street star”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

Consistently wonderful food, wine and service. I celebrated my 60th with a brunch there 2 years ago in August and was treated beautifully; though it doesn't need to be a special occasion to receive wonderful attention. I have been since and before. Though inside we could see the lovely touch of blankets on chairs for customers who were unable to find an inside table on a wintry day. We try to eat there when in Adelaide and are never disappointed as the standard is superb. Maitre d' and owner is a delight-warm and attentive. It is a credit to Adelaide.
