“A walk back in time”
Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

Very friendly staff, service was excellent. Did lack a bit of atmosphere and decor was mixed between 50's - 70's. Needs some tlc. Meals well priced for what you got but presentation lacked a lot especially in the salad area. Has great potential as beautiful old building but definitely needs to sort out the style. Great value for money but wouldn't go there for a special occasion. Good for a cheap casual dinner.

“Parched and puzzled”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

My friend suggested we avoid the heat in the serene and quiet beer garden of the Brunswick, and await some friends. The front bar looked promising, old school wood and barley hop smell and the boutique beer was good and had a happy hour price tag. Out into the beer garden and wham, tele-ported to a parched and barren landscape with wilted plants and a radioactive shimmer. The tapas platter arrived and looked similarly nuked. Some Frittata, white anchovies and mushrooms for $20. My kingdom for a fresh piece of cucumber or tomato to cure my salted tongue. Maybe it was an off day- the tapas platter depends on the kitchens mood and nobody seemed to be able to predict what would be on it. I took the chance, But I wouldn't gamble again. We left about 7 and the happy hour had turned sad. A ghost town. Why?

“Just average Pub food.”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Nothing special but not bad either.

Serves standard pub fare but nothing to set it apart from every other average Aussie pub.
