Hadn't eaten here in a couple years as the food was nothing to rave about and friends had all had similar comments. It seems the menu has changed to include a nice variation of foods.
It was Saturday lunch time and there was no where near enough staff on to take meal orders or drinks. I gave up waiting for a second drink as my lunch would have gone cold.
The food came out quickly and we both really enjoyed it. I had a barra special and my partner a chicken schnitzel. I'd come back again now based on this experience.

We dined at this seaside pub with a group of friends on a summer Thursday evening.
The hotel was quite busy with a number of drinkers and diners enjoying the mild summer weather. The tatty cardboard menus provided a limited selection of meals options. The prices were reasonably high for “pub grub” and so our expectations of a good meal were high.
Service at the bar for ordering meals and purchasing drinks was polite, fast and efficient.
Our meals were delivered surprisingly quickly to our table after ordering. We were hoping that this was an indication of a highly efficient kitchen. Sadly, instead it turned out to be a reflection of dishes thrown together without much care or thought. The pulled pork burger was a tasteless concoction of copious amounts of lettuce leaves with a few strands of pork. The fish dish was served with a tired, tasteless side of sad salad. The chips accompanying these two dishes had obviously gone directly from the freezer into the fryer. Other members of our group were equally disappointed with their food. Only one member of our group had praise for their choice of a barramundi burger.
A seaside pub such as this, which does well out of their summer patrons, could surely spend some of their profits on updating the tired décor of the premises and improving the quality of their food.
We will not to rushing back there soon for another meal!

Cannot believe we paid $170 for the meals we consumed tonight, they were average at best. We regularly eat at some expensive places so are happy to fork out $$$ for great food. This wasn't even good food, let alone great - certainly wouldn't go back. Food we ordered: Hawaiian Chicken Burger, Steak with Salt & Pepper Calamari, and the worst salad I've ever eaten. Beetroot was so hard you could barely cut it, avocado the same. It was meant to be beetroot and goats cheese salad, be lucky if there was 5 tiny morsels of goats cheese. This is literally the 1st negative review I've ever posted, but I really don't want to see other families waste hundreds of dollars when you'd get way better food for half the price elsewhere. The view was awesome, staff ok, wine good.

Admittedly new years day may have the staff a little ragged from the night before but ....
Lovely setting across from the beach with a reserved table on the verandah.
Food came out reasonably promptly - we were there for a late breakfast.
Meal had been totally finished by the time teas and coffees ordered at the same time had arrived. These came out over a considerable period of time.
Must admit that have been more impressed previously here.

A group we go on lunch adventure trips 6 times a year either bus, tram or train to pubs, cafes, restaurant or wine bars travelled by train to Seacliff Hotel very close walk there and upon arriving we ventured upstairs for our lunch booking but it was downstairs the staff were so accomodating they said we could stay there and order lunch so we had a very private area on a Friday a week ago and was very quiet so we all enjoyed that! The staff could not have been more friendly, pleasant and happy to chat before taking food and dink orders and all meals were very enjoyable and reasonable priced food and wine they also took entertainment voucher so took a bit off the bill. Unfortunately the weather was not great and rather windy but on a good day sitting outside would have been very pleasant looking at beach views definitely worth a visit.
