Description: New India Restaurant is located at the heart of the Adelaide CBD, and has been offering loyal patrons with a authentic culinary journey for the last seven years. Head chef Gopal, with his decades of experience in various countries and numerous 5 Star hotels and restaurants has not only offered his expertise and knowledge. He has divulged some of his secret recipes, carefully formulated over the years in his various Chef's Specials dishes. The central location and the focus on the authenticity of the exotic Indian food has kept the New India Restaurant an absolute favourite among the locals as well as the Adelaide Indian community. Besides participating in community activities such as supporting the UniLife in UniSA, and wining various awards, HeadChef Gopal has been responsible for training young chefs in TAFE to continue on his traditional recipes. However, we are sure that he keeps some of his special recipes such as those of the Malai Tikka, Kadhai Paneer & numerous more close to his heart only available to his patrons. Indian hospitality is famous globally where a guest is treated as god, and we at New India Restaurant believe in providing the best service and the authentic food at affordable prices as we want YOU to share it with your friends, family and loved ones. We believe a happy customer is our best award and would like to request you to allow us a chance to extend our Indian hospitality to you, be it a private function (upto 70 people) special occasion, a family gathering or just a quiet dinner for two.

We loved this restaurant across from the Novotel where we were staying. Staff were enthusiastic (as we had two small children) and they provided free papadums

This is our first time to eat here. We were staying directly across the road from the restaurant so we decided to eat here for the convenience.
We didn't want a huge meal.
We had Tandoori Chicken followed by Bhuna Gosht and steamed rice, plain Naan, Pappadams and Raita. The food was very enjoyable and well priced. We took a bottle of wine with us but they did have a limited range of wines and beers. I would eat here again without hesitation.

Great food at a great price. No strong spices n chillies. Authentic north indian flavors. Reasonably priced buffet with decent variety.

Chef Gopal delievers the most authentic north Indian food Adelaide can experience. Delightful in taste, all food is very fresh too. My picks: Palak Paneer, Aloo Parantha and best Gulab Jamun in Adelaide.
Lunch meals cost between 7-10... is a great value for money.

My partner & I used a Cudo voucher for dinner, a vegie entree to share, main each, rice & naan to accompany & dessert to share. The food is fantastic & really good value. Vegie pakoras to start are nicely fried & crisp, tamarind sauce gives a nice sweet kick to them. My main was Chicken Tikka Makhni Masala. tender chicken & rich creamy, flavourful sauce. My partner had Palak Paneer. Spinach was smooth with a nice hint of cumin underlying in the sauce. No gritty taste either. Dessert was Gulab Jamun. Small balls of cottage cheese dumplings, fried, served in a warm rose flavoured syrupy sauce. May look like a small serve, but very deceptive. It is filling & we were lucky to finish it having had our fill with everything before. No comments on the wine list as we drank soft drinks.

Simple lay out & setting for restaurant, but everything is clean & tidy & easy to move through.

Looking at their luch menu, it has a good variety of quick dishes & very reasonable prices instead of relying on the usual food court bain marie curries.

Definitely worth the trip into the CBD for, or if youre in the CBD, head on in.
