“Great location for a night out in Adelaide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

We stayed one night after a work night out in North Adelaide. We could leave our car in a nearby car park all night for $16 or $21 if valet parked. We then went onto the casino and it was an easy stroll back to the hotel.
Breakfast was included (continental) and plenty available.
Room wasnt huge, but we didnt need much for just one night, bathroom was large and also had a standard bath.

Room Tip: Book early - suprisingly Adelaide hotels book out often. The earlier that you book - the better stan...

This was a great hotel for my overnight trip to Adelaide. Centrally located right in the middle of Rundle St mall, its perfect for shopping! Its also walking distance to the river which was awesome for a morning run. The hotel itself is unique and comfortable. My room was spacious with a huge bathroom and lounge area, very comfortable bed all the amenities/facilities you'd need. Its nice to find a hotel room that still provides simple things like hairdryers, irons/ironing boards etc as provision of these seems to be on the way out in many hotels! The staff were friendly and helpful.

My only gripe would be the noise level which I guess you have to expect with the location. The night maintenance being conducted in the mall was quite noisy, as was the garbage pickup early in the morning - obviously this is no fault of the hotel. Within the hotel itself I could hear the shower/toilet etc from the next room; not a huge issue but did wake me once during the night.

The only other hiccup was my disappointment with the food from the hotel restaurant First. I ordered seafood paella as room service and to my disappointment only one of the mussles in the dish actually had meat in it, one was closed (a big no no!) and two were completely empty. There was a couple of prawns in it and a couple of pieces of calamari, more chorizo than anything, still tasty, but for $30, it was pretty average.

Room Tip: Maybe try and grab one that doesn't back onto the mall if you can (not entirely sure of complete...

I selected this hotel because of its location. Little did I know that, this is its worst point. Finding the entrance is an exercise in navigation, good luck and hard work. We found that even on a Sunday afternoon the exercise is frustrating. The staff are very understanding and helped me find it and parked my car but it is a bad start. The rooms are a little tired but clean. Probably a little expensive if it is just a place to sleep. Rundle Mall with its shops is a positive! Next time I think a hotel out of town would be smarter.

Room Tip: If you are driving go elsewhere!

As at the time of writing this review, this hotel ranks #50 out of 73 hotels in Adelaide. After considering the good and bad points, I think the hotel deserves to rank higher than that. I list my experience and observations as follows.

Good points:
- Friendly staff.
- Good location next to shops at Rundle Mall.
- Clean and sufficient.
- Hotel rates were reasonable at about A$150+ per room per night.

Bad points:
- Service was not thoughtful. The hotel did not have a parking area and we had to park at the nearby David Jones shopping mall. Whilst the staff were very helpful to give us directions to the car park, they did not think to inform us that the hotel provided a $16 exit pass. When we tried to exit the car park the first morning, we were shocked to find that the overnight parking charges came up to $56. Our family had rented two cars for the holiday, so imagine - for three nights the difference would have been $240. Thank goodness we had read the fine print on the information sheet and went back to the hotel to purchase the exit passes.
- The hotel did not provide free wifi even in the common areas. We paid for $5 for half an hour's wifi usage, but could only access it by standing along the corridor.
- Blanket was thin and kettle was rusty.

Neutral points:
- Breakfast was a continental breakfast. There were essentials like breads, cereal, milk, juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt with muesli, coffee and tea, but not much else.
- We could hear noise from the street on one of the nights, but that's a trade off for the location.
- Room and furnishings were old, but acceptable given the reasonable rates and the cleanliness.

Right in the centre of the city. Large rooms, separate shower and bath with a private terrace. Prefect for a shopping trip in Adelaide followed by an evening movie. Breakfast included, and the best Coffee shops on the doorstep.
The room looked like it had, had a refurb, , Marble tiles in the bathroom and soft furnishings. Comfortable bed with enough pillows, there must be one that suits you.
The only let down, the carpet, edges need a good clean.
Nice little boutique hotel, friendly staff and in the heart of the city.
Great deals on Wotif.
I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Great deals on wotif with free upgrades to king siutes with terraces..

The room was quiet but tired.
Bathroom tiles were cracked and there were stains on the chairs.
Bathroom bin was dirty on the outside.
The staff were very helpful.
Wouldn't stay again

I booked this hotel because of it's convenient location, next time I won't mind walking to Rundle Mall from the outskirts of the city. The gentleman at reception was friendly and helpful and the lobby made the hotel looked promising.

The room was rather disappointing. The bed was hard and there was damage to all of the skirting, cupboards etc which made the whole place look unkept. The thing that put me off completely was the shower not cleaned properly! I was in a hurry and didn't have time to ask for them to clean it so I showered with my thongs on! There were bottle caps from shampoo on the floor of the shower as well as a smear of what looked like green toothpaste, I could see strands of hair on the glass walls, very poor house keeping! There was also rubbish in the bin.
Wouldn't recommend, and no where near the 'premier boutique hotel' that they claim to be.
