My wife and I stayed one night on the 9th of april . On checking in with the friendly staff we were advised that we had been upgraded to a king room suite. This consisted of a large king size room and an adjoining lounge room. Both rooms had flat screen tv's ,, he bathroom was spotless and the bed was very comfortable but a little low. The only downside was the lift which was next to our lounge room and although we were conscious of its operation it did not overly concern us as it did not operate after 11.00 pm. We ate in the newly refurbished restaurant at night and enjoyed a marvellous Indian meal.. We will stay there again.

As you have noted we do limit the hours of operation of the lift and we apologise for any inconvenience from the noise during its operation.
Hanuman Restaurant is truly delightful and is quickly establishing itself as one of Adelaide's premium Indian & Thai restaurants - we are truly delighted that they have chosen our hotel for their business (mind you, my waistline is not quite what it was before they set up!)

The Chifley on South has definitely seen better days. The rooms are clean but tired. Noise carries a lot (my neighbour had the TV on all night... delightful people).
The location is upmarket and very convenient, so this is a very good budget choice compared to other hotels in the immediate area (including the much more upmarket Grand Chifley a short walk down the road). Stay only if budget is the main driver.

The restaurant ("Hanuman") on the other hand serves a choice of Thai and Indian dishes that are OUTSTANDING. The chef is talented and imaginative. The starters were flawless. Bizarre! These guys should look for a better venue! Almost made up for the hotel's down side...!

Room Tip: Ask for budget deals. Ask for a quiet room.

Thanks for reviewing your stay. We are sorry and apologise you were disturbed by your neighbours television noise. I have asked maintenance and housekeeping to check the televisions throughout the property to ensure the 'hotel lock' has been selected and programmed which limits the upper volume level. We will also remind our night staff to be vigilant and act in regard to any noisy rooms when conducting their regular floor checks.
We are indeed fortunate to have Hanuman Restaurant located in our premises. Having personally eaten there several times, I am of the belief they will establish themselves among the most sought after restaurants in Adelaide.

We stayed here for three nights with a coach group. Dinner was at the Grand Chifley 3 doors down, and very nice with efficient and pleasant, friendly staff, 5 star service. The front staff at the Chifley on South were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was int eh Hotel each morning and well presented and good selection of Buffet. Recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: We were on the First floor and view is not the best, but excellent on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors.

The carpets are worn in places and some tiles in the bathroom need replacing. But the family rooms are quite spacious; the bathrooms clean; the beds comfortable and the bedlinen and towels good. Staff were very pleasant and check in/out efficient.
The elevator stops working at 11.30pm so be prepared to walk up the stairs if you are later than that.

We do limit the lift operating hours, however we will return it to service for guest's with mobility concerns or luggage assistance. Guest's are able to request lift access simply by contacting our friendly reception team.

asked for a quiet room got 210 went up rigth next to the lift on the road side when the traffic died down could hear beeping noise from traffic ligths 50 meters down road wasnt happy ,bed ok shower good pressure no exhaust fan though wont be staying again

I chose this hotel because of a discounted two day package and it appeared to have sufficient space in the room for a small business meeting (which it did). The staff were courteous and helpful, but the servicing of the rooms was less than perfect. It worked well as everything worked and it was close to were I needed to be, include a walk into the city centre. The showers were a disappointment (lack of pressure). Situated opposite open park land and sports grounds gave it an open feeling and a place to walk. The interior decor is both dated and dark. Parking is free for residents and the hotel is easy to access. Overall it worked for my purpose, but I would not choose for a relaxing holiday stay. It does have a pool.

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the review. Sorry for any inconvenience with the water - our maintenance manager is currently investigating the pressure issue with our contracted plumbers and we hope to have a solution to this in the near future.
Housekeeping staff have been reminded of our standards and we are increasing the amount of spot checks on individual rooms to ensure these are maintained.

Stayed one night but not again pros staff helpful free parking nice pool and good views over the park lands. Very noisy a/c not working correctly mould through out bathroom light switches by the bed didn't work no ventilation in bathroom room stuffy and smelt like vomit The lift is something different and the rooms are tired and need refurnisment
