“Good Business Option”
Reviewed February 15, 2011

Stayed for 3 nights with no problems. Had evening meal room service one night and breakfasts for 2 mornings. Although food was expensive, options for the evening meal were good and the quality of cooking was excellent. Breakfasts are continental or cooked buffet. Overpriced for a breakfast but no real other option if you're up for an early morning start.

Rooms are clean and well presented. Colleague complained of thin walls and a sleepless night due to the next rooms TV. My room was very quiet and well sized with a comfortable king sized bed.

Well placed in small Adelaide city center, China boulevard to the 5 mins south and 5 mins north to the casino and bars. Don't expect much in the way of activity in the evenings. Adelaide is not a hub of activity after school. Take a tram to Glenelg (20 mins) as it's a good place to dine and mingle.

Our 3 night stay at this hotel was wonderful. Lovely, good sized rooms with large bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Great location within walking distance of all the tourist attractions and the nightlife and restaurant areas. Booked with an agency at 20% off normal rate which made our stay even better. Staff very friendly and efficient. Could not find fault with anything at the hotel. Unfortunately did not have time to try the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Denis

I stayed for 3 nights at the Rendezvous Allegra Hotel in Adelaide recently, and I must stay I was pretty impressed with this hotel - friendly staff, 4 lifts and stylish room - particularly impressed with the fresh and modern bathroom.

Room service were great, with a dinner menu that changes daily, and whether you select something from the normal menu or the 'daily specials' you will not be disappointed.

The location of the hotel is pretty good - there are heaps of good coffee places nearby, and a convenience store just next to the hotel, should you ever need anything extra..

At present they are providing 3 hours of broadband internet service free for each day you stay at the hotel, or you can select the business pack - for AUD$27.50 a day the package includes breakfast, morning paper, a complimentary drink at the bar and unlimited internet - a decent deal.

All in all, one of the better hotels I have stayed in, and will not think twice to stay again.

We loved it!! Awesome pool with portholes that allow you to see carpark underneath! Room was quite small but usable. Nice and close to Markets and Gouger street for eateries.

Bitterly dissapointed in this hotel.

Although expedia states that smoking is permitted, it is only on balconies (with no ashtray, evident from standing below the hotel with butts dropping down above your head.) I expressed my dismay on check in and was advised that I could pay 35 dollars more a night for a balcony, half the size of my shower.. Which I declined.

The housekeeping staff seem to be more intereted in watching tv (which was on upon entering my room, although I ensured it was off when leaving) than cleaning the room. Today (after having the 'make up my room' sign on my door from 10am till 6pm, I walked in to find my room in the same state as I left it.. This was after two days of poor cleaning. (pillows thrown back on bed, wine glass left on desk although clearly used..)

Finally decided enough was enough and complained (which takes a fair amount of displeasure for me to do) and was given a voucher for a house wine. I accepted, but was a little shocked at the little amount of compensation offered (remember this is a 4.5 star hotel).

Overall I won't be staying here or at any rendezvous property in the future. This is not 4.5 star service... I would advise you to stay at the oaks precinct instead, massive rooms with balconies. No room service, but only around the corner from gouger and hindley streets, so plenty of food around. If your after room service specifically, find somewhere else where you will almost undoubtedly have a better time... (if you want room service, I figure that cleaning would also be expected).

Also, there seems to be an issue with getting Vodafone reception inside the hotel...

Our 10th floor Superior Suite had a real 'wow' factor. Massive bed and bathroom perfect for a few days in the city. Great location for access to the city but unfortunte its next to a building site which was a bit noisy in the morning.
