Third time at the Sebel, deluxe guest room this time.
Great value, excellent service.
Proper 5 star hotel, best we've found in Adelaide.
Rooms are really nice and comfortable, beds are excellent as is the linen.
Bathrooms are good too, well set out with plenty of space, good water pressure.
Parking and facilities are good, room service is the best and 24hr.
All the staff are really friendly, well presented and professional.
Rooms and Hotel are very clean and well maintained.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you're wanting to stay in Adelaide and they have a room - take it - any room.....

Recently spent 3 days in the Sebel Playford Adelaide for a short holiday. The room was excellent, large and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious enough for two people to be in there at the same time. The restaurant had nice views of the street without being intrusive. The food and service was exceptional and much cheaper than going up the street to find another place to eat, which was quite surprising. The location is very good with train, bus and tram services just outside the front door to allow for easy access to travel around Adelaide. Other venues were within comfortable walking distances and easily accessible from this hotel as well. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable of the Adelaide area. Well worth a visit for couples or families.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the street for the best views.

We booked the Playford as it was ranked No1 with Trip Advisor, we were not disappointed. We were traveling with our 7 month old son to see family so we booked a studio spa suite so that he could sleep in a separate room with the door closed while we watched TV, ate, showered etc. It was perfect. I called ahead and requested a cot which was already made up on our arrival. We had flown from Perth and were greeted so warmly from the moment we arrived, nothing is too hard for the staff who treated us so well and accommodated any request we had promptly. Each time we stepped out of the car a friendly face welcomed and assisted us with the baby and all our equipment.

The room itself was nice, clean and big enough for the three of us. The only downside was the lack of a view as we were looking directly out at the dingy wall of the building next door. Not much can be done about it though. If you were staying for a romantic getaway I would request a room facing another direction, but for our trip it was not important. Housekeeping do an excellent job, there are not enough hotels who leave chocolates on your pillow anymore, I loved this trip down memory lane, I am also a chocoholic! The only niggle was that the sugar was not replenished at all during our 3 day stay. The suites, however, do have a small sink, fridge and microwave which is excellent when traveling with children. We were able to wash up bottles and other paraphernalia associated with babies. There is also cutlery and crockery which makes getting some take away a viable option.

The in house guest laundry is a fabulous option when traveling with a baby as a laundry service can get very costly when you have many items to be laundered. Being able to pop down and do a load myself for less than $10 (included washing liquid and an hour in the dryer) was perfect.

We had room service for a lunch and dinner, the serves are not overly generous but the food is good and again the service is brilliant. For the convenience when traveling with a baby who needs his sleeps, it was a good option.

We had breakfast in the restaurant one morning, it was amazing, we didn't need lunch that day. We tried to have breakfast again but being on baby sleep times we didn't manage the second booking. The quality of locally sourced produce was great and the varied choices was amazing. The banana, agave, activated walnuts and chia was a lovely surprise. Some really intelligent and exciting breakfast options. Chocaholics are definitely catered for, churros, chocolate fondue, dark chocolate gogi berries, YUM! The health conscious are also catered for with a wide selection of beautifully prepared and cooked vegetarian options such as sauteed broccolini and asparagus, gourmet potato and mixed vegetable 'hash", activated nuts and gourmet yogurts. Of course bacon, eggs and saugages are available and are locally sourced and beautifully prepared.

Thanks to the staff at the Playford, you made our trip amazing!

Room Tip: If traveling with children, book a suite. For a romantic get away request a room with a view of some...

Well located - close to Rundle Mall, entertainment and arts precint and parkland all within walking distance. Reasonable price. Staff were friendly and amenable. Only slight criticism was that the pillows needed to be refreshed.

We stayed here twice during our two week Australia journey and used it as a base leaving and coming back from Kangaroo island. They checked us in late at night and made sure everything was ready for us to go- including our car for our early morning departures. The room is very clean, and the bed is extremely comfortable. We also ordered room service for dinner, and it was exceptional. The staff also allows us to leave half of our luggage locked up since we could only bring 35 pounds to Kangaroo Island island via plane. We also toured the Borossa for the day on our last day. It only takes about 15 min. to get to the airport, and we would recommend just hiring a taxi- not that expensive. We were very satisfied! Service is what makes this hotel stand out - the staff is excellent.

We stayed here as a couple for our anniversary for one night Tuesday July 2nd. We always use trip advisor to help us make a descision on where to stay and this was #1 hotels in Adelaide to stay. The location is excellent, it's literally in the heart of Adelaide so we actually got a tram there. Shops, restaurants, railway station and casino surrounds the hotel so you can walk everywhere and don't need to worry bout any extra transport. The sebel playford exceeded all of our expectations, you arrive and walk through the restaurant/bar and upto the reception receiving a very warm welcome from all very well presented staff, even if you pop out of the hotel for five mins they always greet you. It took about two mins to check in, the receptionist was very helpful and knowledgable offering advice on opening times for breakfast, where nearest restaurants are and just interested in helping us as much as possible. We were offered help with our bags, and shown to our rooms. You need to have a room key to use the lift and get access through the corridor and also to your room so it felt very secure.
I took bad footwear with me and they supplied me with band aids/ plasters everyday. We were also given a free drink and coffee on arrival.
We booked a superior king room, got a very good deal on booking.com I was surprised how cheap it was for a 5 star hotel. We had a huge comfy bed, two robes and slippers, our own garden with water feature which was shared with one other room I assume was a smoking area. Very nice idea, and conservatory open doors. We also loved the flat screen tv and royalty like chairs. Bathroom is very spacious with two powerful shower heads, and also a bath.
We did some shopping that day and went out for lunch. We then went to the basement of the hotel which was the gym spa and pool. Much to our surprise we had it all to ourselves which was even better! The pool was big and beautiful and heated, there is also a jacuzzi & sauna. we spent a few blissful hours there and before we knew it it was dinner time. The fact the basement was open 24/7 was the best thing about the hotel. I was temped to go back after dinner. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and that was a great decision. We were shown to a table by a very polite young man whom we tipped highly afterwards. The restaurant is very big and has a very elegant style with floor touching table cloths. The waiter was very attentive pouring us more water and not missing a thing. I had a delicious salmon fillet and my boyfriend had a steak and we both loved every bite! Having an entree and a dessert also. It was very reasonably priced also for two rounds of drinks and a three course meal. We slept so well, it was so quiet and peaceful.
I went fr a swim in the morning before breakfast, it had 3 other people in the gym area which is not a lot considering its probably the peak time, and considering the size of hotel.
Breakfast finished at 1030 which gave us half a hour afterwards to pack our belongings and check out by11, it was not included and I think it was 28 dollars pp, which is what to expect from a five star hotel but it was my boyfriends fav thing about our stay. Everything you could imagine for breakfast from yoghurt to lycées to nuts to mushrooms to coconut juice! Amazing selection of buffet and I even went up for seconds!
Best hotel we have ever stayed in, can't wait to have the opportunity to go back! Thanks to all the team at sebel playford

The Sebel is in a good location on North Terrace, an easy walk to most attractions. The tram stop and station are also very close.
We had a loft suite, which is huge, but split level, so the bedroom and bathrooms are on different levels with one and a half flights of stairs between the two. Poor design. The room was comfortable and well furnished, good sleep quality. The bathroom was very good, with a spa bath and separate shower.
Everything in the room worked well and was in good order.
Staff were all excellent.
Beware - the restaurant is small, so you should book, even for breakfast. You can get a light breakfast in the lounge.
