“Enjoyable stay, good location”

Stayed for 2 nights in July - staff were excellent, the room was nice, comfy bed. Nice bar/lounge for drinks. Brekky was a bit pricey so didn't eat there. Only downside was the noise from nearby venues in the early morning but that was no fault of the hotel.

I arrived at 10 am to dump my bags before going off to a conference, only to find they had a room all ready for me! They also have a 11 am check-out.
Altogether a top hotel with terrific, friendly service, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and a fairly easy-going vibe. Not new, but well maintained. I would definitely stay there again. There are cheaper deals in Adelaide, but if you're in town for several days this place is worth the extra money.
Only downside is that it's at the seedier end of busy North Terrace. The back rooms are quiet if you're a light sleeper.

I stayed one night at the Sebel on business after getting a great online deal. Having stayed in many o Adelaide's hotels over the years - this one was definately one I would note for a return visit. Located along with a cluster of hotels on North Terrace, it's a few minutes walk to the eateries of Hindley street and the main city shopping precinct of Rundle Mall. Lovely old world charm in the foyer and large well appointed rooms. The standout was definately the service - from front desk check in, room service and then the concierge arranging taxis for departing guests - it was flawless and genuine service all the way. Loved that there was a full size bath & bathrobes. One gripe however with room service dinner which was a fairly un appetizing pasta with ingredients that sounded ok but really didn't make sense together in the dish.

We stayed here one night prior to setting off on a long drive to Brisbane, (2,000 kms). We were guests of a company, so our expectations were not high. The room was good; clean comfortable and spacious enough. The bar was big and fairly grand and the service attentive but not intrusive. We had dinner in the restaurant which was good, but not outstanding.
However the following morning we had breakfast in the restaurant and boy were we impressed. It is without doubt the best breakfast that I have ever had anywhere in the world. The range was wide, the quality very high and only small portions were cooked so each guest was treated to freshly cooked faire.
We had a slight issue as we booked out as someone else was paying for the room and they could not find the payment. I was kept waiting an unacceptable length of time until a more experienced member of staff spotted my irritated demeanour and intervened, resolving it immediately. Meanwhile the parking concierge had been driving my car around the reception area to keep it free, so they did their best.
I will always stay here in future when in Adelaide; just for that breakfast!

The sebel Playford would have to be one of if not the best hotel in adelaide, we have stayed numerous times, and can not fault the place.
The hotel is very up market and for the price is good value, we love staying here, the 2 level room are really cool, and the bar and restruant areas are what you would expect from a high class hotel, ther lounges are magic.
all the staff are very professional and never had a single issue at this hotel.
If you want a really nice place to stay, 45 seconds walk from the casino, and 3 mins from the main city streets, this is where you need to stay.

I stayed here for 1 week while in Adelaide for work. I got it really cheap on wotif so keep your eyes open for the specials. The pool, spa and gym are excellent. Room is large with comfy king size bed, large flat screen tv with digital channels and there is a lounge. I love the light in the wardrobe that comes on automatically when you open the doors. Nice bathroom with good quality toiletries. Good selection of teas and hot chocolate in the room. Its only a 5 minute walk to rundle mall or a 1 minute walk to the free tram. Staff are really friendly. The freshly squeezed juice in the cafe in the mornings is delicious. Food is excellent, in particular the trio of dips was excellent! I definitely recommend staying here- 5 stars all the way!

My husband and I booked a night away in a loft suite for our wedding anniversary, and I'm glad we made that choice. The loft suite is spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities are excellent. Ours has a large spa bath. Unlike many hotels, this hotel feels quite updated, while still having a classic feel. I can't stand old bathrooms in nice rooms, and was glad this wasn't the case.
Gym/sauna/pool/spa area is beautiful, and open 24 hours. I highly suggest you pack for use of this area. We went late at night, which was very fun and refreshing, and as check out is at 11 in the morning, you feel you can stay up late and enjoy everything the hotel has to offer.
The only complaint we would have, is the food at dinner could have been a bit better than it was. Though, still enjoyable, my fish had so much batter and very little fish, which made me feel quite sick. The service in the restaurant, and indeed, in the whole hotel, was fantastic, and we can't fault that.
Overall, a fun night spent celebrating.
